Six of one, half a dozen of the other. I'm leaving for Disneyland on the 24th of August and was planning on coming back on the 28th. An extended vacation, maybe? I don't have my plane tickets yet.

On the other hand, the October date would give me some time to recover financially (not that that matters

)

There is a big occassion in October...there is a certain MCer that is marrying another fellow MCer and then a few more MCers are heading to WDW in late October. OR at least that's the plans that I know. You might want to double check on that.

Also, wouldn't HMH be up and running at that time?

Not necessarily...it's been my experience that some parts of October are extremely warm...(the height of brushfire season in SoCal)...just thought I'd point that out...

Too be honest I have no idea what the OP is talking about yet...I still have to click the link :blush: but in addition to what Dizzydisneydee said, withthe wedding and WDW trip in the works, October is also a busy event month at DLR...

GayDays in the beginning of the month (I think) and Mouse Adventures that is still date to be announced.....A Lot of MCers go to those 2 events...

October 23-29 2006 is the MC WDW trip, so a few of us might not make it, just thought I'd throw that in.

If your trip departs on the Monday following the (potential) Gumball Rally on Friday, is that going to be a problem?

How about those of us who work Mon-Fri? Wouldn't a Sunday be a better suggestion? I could probably plan to get a Friday off but.... Of course I know you can't please everyone. I've tried in the events I've planned. It's difficult. But my vote would be for a Sunday.

It would mean taking off an extra day two days before taking an entire week off, so, yes, it would be a problem for a few of us

The problem with a Sunday is that Disneyland isn't usually open late on Sundays (unless it's a holiday weekend, then you have to deal with the crowds), and since the Gumball Rally is all about getting on as many rides as possible in one day, you're going to need those extended hours to complete the rally.

It's actually the Oct 20th date that we are scrapping since that weekend should be all about Disneyphile and Frodo Potter, and then there are all those who will be leaving for the WDW trip.

We'll come up with something!!

Earkid's right. We're gonna have to scrap October 20th. Too many MC things happenin'. Plus, we want as many MiceChatters to participate as possible!
So unless the Friday before Labor Day weekend starts becoming real popular, this thing will probably go down on September 29th.
