    A quick question related to the 50th

    The family is planning a trip to Disneyland for the 50th anniversary, and since I know Disney has a tendency to roll out celebrities and such for events like this, I was wondering if anyone knew exactly when they planned on having all of that fanfare? If they're bringing them in like I assume, is it going to be in May, when they're kicking off the beginning of the festivities, or on the 17th of July to coincide with the real anniversary?

    I checked a lot of related articles, but couldn't find this specific answer. Thanks.

    The big 50th kick off starts on May 5th 2005. There will be a new parade "Walt Disney's the Parade of Dreams" and a new fireworks show "Remember..Dreams Come True".

    I heard that Juile Andrews & Art Linkletter might be there in May....

      Not that I have any inside info on this matter, but I would say July 17th. I mean, thats really going to be the big day. Personally, I'm wondering if I'll even be able to make it in to the place, I mean after all, it is THE big day. I only live 45 minutes or so from DLR, but I know that they'll be lining up EARLY. I don't thing anyone is going to be getting a day off that day, they'll probably be cramming them in there. I wonder if they'll do something at WDW on July 17, they seem to be doing anything and everything possible to get people to go there for the anniversary though.

        The 2 big days are May 5 (the big kick-off) and July 17th (the actual anniversary). Expect HUGE media turnouts, A and B list celebrities as well as some "surprises."

            Not too far off the subject but what the heck is up with all the WDW commercials and stuff. I have seen only 1 commercial for DL but like 4 talking about new rides at WDW. I am planning to be there at 5 am with coffee and a lounge chair on the 17th!!!!!
