  • (spitting on ducks) Oh no you didn't!

Yesterday I went to the park knowing it would be crowded, but went anyway. As I was walking from Main Street to Frontierland, I watched a girl of about 16 years old, spit on a duck. Her mother right next to her said absolutely nothing. I was shocked at what I saw. Then I turned mad and said, "What the he** do you think you are doing?" No response. Her mom turned and looked at me with a blank look on her face. So I said a little louder, " You spit on a duck and think that's ok?" Again no response. Mother turns to me and now looks to have heard that I was talking to her daughter. They stop and are looking at something as I pass them. Then I hear mom say to daughter, "That man was yelling at you." Daughter says, "How come?" Mom says, " He saw you spit." "OH." I am sorry if my ranting at this child offends anybody, but that was uncalled for. Her mother should have been appalled by her actions, but wasn't. I don't know who I was mad at the most. If my child would ever think to do that it would upset me to think they think that was ok. I hope nobody else has a story like this one. Maybe it was a once in a lifetime thing. Just wanted you to know that if I am in the park, I am going to speak up. DL is all of ours, not just the few who want to mess it up.

I can't help but laugh. It's like Austin Powers- "Come on, Who throws a shoe??"

"Come on, Who spits on a duck??"

    People are weird.

It is part of the duming down of things, along with the loss of politeness in general.

I think more of us should speak up in regards to that stuff. I am too shy to though.

The only thing that would've made that story better is if you spat on her just to show her what it's like. ha ha.

That's right up there with what I saw one day at the Hungry Bear. It started out innocently enough, with bits of bread (burger bun?) being tossed to the ducks. I freaked when it turned into used ketchup packets.

It's too bad Disney cannot implement rules like they have in Singapore (or was it Malaysia?), where that American (excuse me, United States of America citizen) teenager was "professionally" spanked for making graffiti. I'm not sure what the penalty for spitting should be .......

Haha. Bravo, you're my hero. I wouldn't even have minded if you'd shaken her a little, maybe spit on her purse... Job well done.

I would have said something too. And for the mother to not say anything? Its not only bad that she was spitting on a duck but dont woman teach children that its disgusting to be spitting in public period? I think that is one of my biggest pet peeves. DL is too crowded to be spitting like that and that mother should be teaching her daughter manners AND respect for the wildlife.

I applaud that you said something!

                            Hilarous People @ DL

Ahh man, those stories were hilarous! I mean, don't disgrace the park, but I couldn't help crack a smile for all the stuipd things people do.

Please post more of these stories so I can laugh, thank you.

I remember one time there was some teens smoking weed in Injun Joe's Cave on Tom Sawyer Island. How stuipd. They got yelled at by a bunch of moms, "can't you find anywhere else to smoke your pot?" An eventually got caught by security. I was angry at first too, but the more I thought about how stuipd that was, I had to laugh. I mean, really, who does that?

Still not as bad as when I witnessed.....

                                (warning: it's gross)
                                Spoiler
a kid last year peeing on the floor at the upper queue area at Jungle Cruise. His parents were letting him, and it was dripping down through the wood slats onto the queue area below.

So, I'll never go wait in line there when the upper queue is open. Ever again.

Some people just do really disgusting things at DL. And those people should have their heads flushed in DL's toilets, many, many times.

My children (when I have them) will absolutely never act that way. What are people thinkg?!?!?!? It was in no way uncalled for for you to call her out on that. My mom would have done the same.
