  • The most dangerous ride

What is, in your opinion, the most dangerous ride at DLR? I have a friend that works as a eletrical engineer over at DCA. He says California Screamin is rip for a Big Thunder Mountain-type acident. He says maintenace policies havn't changed since Presseler.

    "Predicting" accidents is kind of...wrong.

Snow White's grotto is just asking for someone to lose an eye or something.

Until last week probably SBL Canal Boats would not have even made a list such as this. Those incompetent parents of that poor child certainly changed that!

I agree with NPCody above...trying to predict an attraction accident is too macabre.

By far, each and every one of the rides parked in the parking lot (cars that is)....

Those rides will KILL YOU!!! 45,000+ a year!!!!! 40-50% of all accidental deaths are auto related in most years. Over 2 million Americans have been killed in car accidents in 50 years DL has been open.

Compare this to DLRs 2 deaths in which the guest was not at least at partial fault. Tragedy to the individuals' families.. Statistically, smaller than a drop in a bucket.

Maybe your friend should be working to change those policies instead of predicting the next fatality....

It just scares him to see that nothing has changed as far as maintenance is concerned. He tries his best to keep his stuff running but he worries about other things he's seen. The ride it until it breaks theory is still in operation.

Disney can't afford another accident on the scale of BTMRR. Rollercoasters have spectacular failures, so they need to be taken very seriously when it comes to maintenance. That said, some accidents are just very hard to prevent.

                  Most Dangerous:

I know it's not as "sexy" as a roller coaster derailment or a ride crushing an individual but danger has many forms and I would worry more about a fire on an attraction such as Haunted Mansion or Winnie the Pooh

The most dangerous ride at DLR? I'd say getting in and out of the M&F parking structure...

I bet there are a lot of falls getting on Splash as well.
                        I almost slipped once.
I think we have to be patient, we know they can't fix ten years of everything wrong, all at once.

i would have to say either Maliboomer or Screamin. i have heard that our very own president, Matt Ouimett wont even allow his kids to go on either of those rides. if he doesnt think that those rides arent that safe, then he should do something about it. as for the safest ride, i would have to say BTMRR now.

I agree I panic everytime I need to change lanes to get over to the corner to turn on to Ball rd. instead of go straight for the freeways... definetly in need of an enhancement there!

Ugh. Exactly. Especially when you're in a mass-exodus, and in the far left lane. It's sometimes impossible to get over, and you end up being forced onto the 5 onramp...
