  • Aladdin Musical Performer Drunk Onstge During New Years Day Performance.

A performer who plays the role of Jafar in the Aladdin Musical Spectacular at Disney's California Adventure was found to be intoxicated during the first performance of the Aladdin Musical that day. from I know guests in the audience could tell that the performer was drunk and filled guest relations with complaints. The performer was suspended but was then allowed to return to work. Disney really dropped the ball on this one by allowing an employee to return to work after be found intoxicated.

They really dropped the ball by even allowing him to go on stage drunk. Could no one tell this backstage at all?

I'd drink too if I was still in that bomb.

In fact, I may have one right now.

        Excuse me.

I understand some performers have, shall we say, been less than thrilled by their experience in this show.
          Perhaps some performers want out.

Neat! I wonder if he's the one that spit on me the time I sat under the 'window' when he said, "that Prince A-Boo(spit)-boo(spit) Ppp(spit)erson!"

I haven't washed my face since.

Oh, if you only KNEW what kind of behavior goes on backstage in the musicals. Just work in a few, you'll find out. "Drunk, and out of control!"

It just comes with the territory. "Its a hard knock life for us!"

How pathetic. Don't they have like, and UNDERSTUDY or something? Really!

I guess if he was really unhappy and wnted out of the show he could have done it like one performer at Tokyo DL who played Mickey Mouse. During her show when Mickey is supposed to come out of a box filled with fog, she took off her head and rolled it out onto the stage from the box. Now that's a great way to get out of your contract.

I think it may have been a good case of "method acting" as they must have been drunk when they wrote the show.

Was this guy slurring or stumbling on stage or something? I could see the CM's notcing, but the Guests? That was one performance I wish I could've seen.

Ya, that would have been hillarious to see. I wonder if he tried to hit on Jasmine during the show? Now that's funny.

Marge: [reading from the test box] "Ahoy, Maties! If the water turns blue, a baby for you! If purple ye see, no baby thar be!"
Homer: So, which is it? Blue or purple?

Wow, glad to know I'm not the only who drank on the job! It's just the age and the place to do it. Hell I showed up one New Year's for my shift and I had just left a party not 1/2 hour previously. I probably should have gotten busted but what are they going to do?? Send you home and not have someone there to replace you. At least he was suspended after the fact, I'm sure his supervisors figured it was better he was there than to not have an Aladdin show at all. Course if he wasn't a major figure in the show then who knows what they were thinking!!
