  • One year ago... Kelsey Grammer fell off the Hyperion stage

Ok, so the thread is now 3 days late but I was reading Maxim and he was talking about it in an interview. I transcribed that portion of the interview...
Where were you when you found out you got the role of the Beast in X-men 3?
I was down at Disneyland doing this promotional thing for their 50th-anniversary celebration--it was the same time I fell off that stage. The bruise ran the length of my quadricepts, from the middle of my butt cheek down to the top of my knee. There was one on the inside of my other leg, too. I got beat up.
Yeah, that video is still a crowd-pleaser at work.
Well, Disneyland is very nice to me now. But I still have an indentation [points to hip] right here a year later. So it was a pretty severe wound. It was painful, so I didn't have time to think about whether it was embarrassing or not. Besides, every great theater actor has a tale of falling off the stage.

    In case you missed it...

Seems Disney has had a very lasting impression on him but he doesn't seem to hold any hard feelings. The inteview is pretty interesting, I had no idea he had such an... interesting life.

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive.
If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."
    Disneyland. My Anti-drug.

With all this talk of "off the shelf" and "on the back-burner" it seems the only thing that DCA is really missing is the kitchen sink!

    Hahahaha.

That's funny. But I do enjoy the voice-over work Mr. Grammer has done for the 50th commercials. For me, his voice really works well for the commercials.

Also, I'm totally stoked for X3 - he's the PERFECT match for Beast!

You know, you got to give Mr. Grammer his due for holding his cool and being so kind under pressure(of course he had to be.)

But sad this made the Youtube section.

That was the first time I saw the video. I feel bad for the guy, really I do, but I couldn't help laughing! Glad he kept his cool (haha some very choice words could have been used) and that he's such a good sport about it all.

and I agree Master Gracey, he'll make an excellent Beast.

You all dare start a thread about anything Frasier Related without me!

(The video is still mildly funny...)

I met him and got his autograph on May 4th last year. I didn't know at that time he had fallen of the stage earlier. I didn't hear about it until the 5th. But he was very nice when I approached him for the autograph. All the celebrities that were in the park that day were.

I love that his microphone was still connected when he fell.

Not that he should have fallen...

I'm also amazed he kept his cool when he fell. He even apologized for his language at the end there, not that I heard him say anything bad. What a respectful guy.

I also think he's a PERFECT match for Beast and I can't wait to see the movie.
