Attractions & Areas That Should Be Given The Pink Slip

Innoventions needs the pink slip -- BAD. I've been in there once, and one time only. I highly regretted wasting that time.
Aladdin's Oasis needs to be changed....
HISTA is outdated, annoying, and in comparison to "It's Tough to be a Bug!" and "Muppet*Vision 3D" across the esplanade, its just plain boring.
Get a new attraction back into the Pizza Port, but move the pasta to another food location -- they have some good pastas there!
As for Pink Slips at DCA... well.. I don't even want to get started with that list!

If i was Matt I would give the Pink slips to
- HISTA - Read my thread
- Innoventions - Kinda cool but we need something better in there then some Gadget Expo
- Snow White - 5 minute wait and it is a terrifing Fantastyland attraction I vote to replace it with something like a B&B dark ride or something like that
-Tarzan Treehouse- WASTED SPACE
-Aladins Oasis- Bring back Tahitian Terrance
-Gadget- Not the ride but the mouse thing! Most kids don't remember Rescue Rangers and affiliate it with nothing or Inspector Gadget.
-DCA- A large sum of rides deserve the slip at DCA

There seems to be this assumption that if an attraction is closed, magically, money for a replacement will become available.... This is not so.
Criteria for a pink slip....
Operating cost does not justify the guest satisfaction it creates.
Something like Autopia, which I never ride except when my 14 y/o daughter drags me on, is cheap to operate and very popular with a certain (9-15 y/o) segment. I understand the argument that it takes up space that could be used for bettr attractions, but MONEY, not space is the limiting factor on new attractions.... Autopia can stay until all the other available space is used up, and there is money for something much better to replace it.
HISTA... Again, cheap to operate, and "fairly" popular in the peak season when the park is full of infrequent visitors.
Innoventions.... No cost.. Actually a profit center as companies pay to have their products on display. Keep it until money is available for Mission:Space (and law suit is settled). If you don't like it, don't go in. I don't.
Frankly, I don't see any major money sinks left that really should be closed to make room in the budget for other things.....
In short, use the available open land like Festival of Fools and Motor Boat Cruise for new attractions. Only after all already empty land is used up and there is still money available for new attractions, close atractions to make room. In this case, Innoventions, Autopia, Starcade, Redd Rocket's, Bounce house, tree house, FL theater.... ALL would get my vote for areas that could be repurposed.

HISTA.... innoventions.... Starcade (to be relocated into empty space...)..... and red rockets... (move pizza and other food items to the Tomorrowland Teris....)
Each area would fit into my master plan......
New interactive themed resturaunt... (2 levels cause it is a show too.. one show per level..)
New rides.. (New original 3-D movie..)
(Mission Space with new movie and profile)
and finally.. move the arcade somewhere else... (like empty areas in innoventions before it closes or somewhere else in DL.... olde empty space anywhere??)

As for Timon lot, its a little out of place. It would be good ride space for DCA, but how do you make it part of Disneyland?
You can see above, the spaced use for just Autopia can fit about 5 Matterhorns. Same can be said for the JC. And Timon lot would need a HUGE LONG bridge to be part of Disneyland. I have no doubt in my mind that as DCA expands, Timon lot will shrink till its gone. ToT already took a good chunk out of it!
Ow. I would also remove Its a Small World. Ya. I have no heart

I realli agree with you, you make a good point how "if we don't move into the future" i do find the autopia useless, boring, waste of wait time, and has nothing to do with the future of tomarrow, it's more like the past. and the subs. i think they should leave the lagoon but not the ride. thats another thing thats not very futruric and spacelike. I think making another land would realli set DLR apart from every other Disneyland. we were #1. We should at least keep our individuality. O ya IASW, I think for that ride they took toooo muck space on it. Thibk the whole ride could have been Underground.pshhh i guess

THAT WAY YOU COULD BUILD A NEW PARK!

As far as unused space, look at the huge space just north of Thunder Mountain as well as the area to the west of it along the river. They could easily put a "Liberty Square" or something there.

My Tommorland:
Innoventions: Innoventions would be gutted completely, keeping the rotating outer disc however. This would be turned into a large rotating sit-down restaraunt. In the middle would be a HUGE model of Disneyland, complete with lights and moving ride displays. Each room that you pass through, 8 in all, is themed to a different land. Upstairs in a permanent display on the history of Disneyland, complete with video displays and artifacts. There would also be a shop.
Star Traders: Would be remodeled slightly to incorparate a room with a window which would allow you to see inside the attraction building of Star Tours, with video moniters showing both the guests in the Star Speeders and the video on the screen.
The Autopia Shop: Would be remodled to go with the new submarines attraction. In the middle of the shop would be a huge circular fish tank (with real

Just thought I'd mention why rides like Autopia matter...
Children!
I know not many of them use this board (or maybe it's all childrenbut some seem to forget about them. Just stand at that spot that shows the double curve of Autopia and watch the smiles on the kids faces.
I know Walt didn't want DL to be a museum, but I think he would have ripped out JCruise, the Subs, or TSIsland. But, I bet they would be much better rides. My preference is to leave most of the nostalgia but UPGRADE. Some of this is being done now and I think it's great.
AND - please no one ever say something kind about Innoventions. It's a disgrace to DL.

Besides Innoventions, here are some others:
Honey I Shrunk The Audience - I'll stand by my opinion--take it out and put Mickey's Philharmagic there...*Or*...it could ALSO be a good place to put Turtle Talk With Crush.
Pooh - rather than tear it out altogether. Make it more like the Tokyo Disneyland one...you know, the GOOD Pooh ride.
Aladdin's Oasis - As much as I love Aladdin, it pretty much serves no purpose in Adventurelnd, except that kiddie show. Rehaul it, and, as many people before me have said, make it the Tehitian Terrace once more.
Festival of Fools Arena - I remember a time they said they had taken it out but were bringing it back when Animazement closed...sadly, THAT show been closed for what? 2 years now? 3? (lost count...) and i've kinda lost all hope in FOF EVER returning. Really a shame, because it was such a great show...makes me kinda sad every time I pass it by. Anyway, rather than keep it there for company picnics, i'd rather see them do something with it. How about a "Home On The Range" (Don't shoot me, but I enjoyed the movie.) Fantasyland style dark ride? I mean, the movie fits in with the theming of the area.
That's all I can think of for now...
