  • Where to view fireworks OUTSIDE of the park

We will be returning to D'land on the 28th with my sister and her 2 daughters (5 & 8). They have never been to the park and will be purchasing 2 days passes for Monday and Tuesday through the AP special. We are driving from Phoenix and thought we could take the kids swimming Sunday and then watch the fireworks from an outside spot. We are staying at the Crowne Plaza which is really too far away to see the fireworks from. Can you give me some suggestions on where we could take them to see the fireworks Sunday night?

P.S. Monday I will stake out a place near the hub for them to be able to see them 'correctly'.

You can see them fairly well from the North Downtown Disney Parking lot.
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

I'd recommend Anaheim High School, behind the baseball fields, in the back of the school. Cross streets are Sycamore and Citron. To get there:
I-5 North/South to Lincoln Ave. Exit (one exit north of Harbor [going North], or right after Euclid [going South]).
Go East on Lincoln Ave. until Citron St. and head North. (The school is on the corner of Lincoln and Citron).

Just park your car along Sycamore and look South. You might miss some of the lower air fireworks, but will see all the other fireworks. And you don't really have to strain your neck looking up from this vantage point (you are about 1 mile North of the Park).

        Hope this helps

i like to watch 'em from the top of the parking structure. it's interesting also watching them shoot off from the TDA buildings.

I thought of the Parking Structure also, but it will cost them $10.00 just to see the fireworks from there. Never thought of TDA, good suggestion!

I have an AP with parking so we could go to the parking structure but I thought that might be a tad cruel for the kids, being parked at Disneyland and not actually going in. The high school sounds like a definite possibility. Is it a safe area? To see them from TDA where would we park?

I stayed at Howard Johnson last year and had a great view from the pool there so I would say the parking lot facing Harbor.

Disney Parking Structure top, Most of the time that late in time there is no one at the parking booth so it is free to park. I think disney start dothis about 3 hour before closeing of the park.
you will not see the firework stuff at the castle.

I'm not sure how ethical this suggestion is, but the pool area of the PPH has a great view of the fireworks and they pipe the music in. When we stayed there we watched from there and they did not ask for a room key to get in. I don't know if that has changed though.

Last month I sat in front of the Best Western Park Place Inn across the street from DLR and had a great view of the high fireworks. I missed all the lowest fireworks and the castle effects, of course, but I'd seen them before and the crowds were just too much for me that night.
