  • Splash Mountain Rehab Suprise!

As many of you may have recently become aware, Splash Mt. has gone down for a slightly extended rehab (won't reopen until march). I spoke with some of the CMs down there and discovered that they are working on modifying the logs to allow the back row to seat two people side by side (ala the rocket rods). So, if the testing goes well, the logs should have an increased capacity (one additional guest)! Keep in mind, the entire logs will not feature side-by-side seating (ala WDW's Splash), just the back row.

Remember, all info subject to change without notice.

I already heard about this so I guess I'm a bit dissapointed at not being suprised

I hope they get that owl working again on the refurb (yeah I know they probably won't but I can hope)

I also wish that we could have a animatronic Owl in the que like Tokyo and maybe that frog on the first lift like WDW/Tokyo

Actually, I'm hoping (foolishly) that we get the hopping Brier Rabbit animatronic from WDW (the one that dances on the hedge). He's amazing!!

why can't we get all of that

I mean it's too late to get something like what WDW's getting (a ride from all the different resorts around the world) but why can't we get attraction enhancements from different Disney Resorts all around the world

And why exactly do we need seats that sit side-by-side? Seems like a lot of money put into something that could be put to better purpose.

It looks like you have to be pretty darn small to sit with somebody else in those back seats.

The side-by-side seating will make it easier to hold on to small children.

the snoring bear (near the queue entry) was Rufus from the Country Bears (the stage/lighting bear you never saw but only heard). They removed the snoring when they removed the ride in 2001. The bear snoring near slippin' falls (1st drop) is Brer Bear. He's still there.

the reduction of the ride capacity has been a source of concern. They're trying to correct that problem.

maybe they will slow it down again. The last few times we went on it we were flying by everything. I liked it better when it was slower....

Forget the side-by-side rear seating; Have you checked out the other seating configuration in the logs as pictured in today's Al Update on miceage?!?!?

It's four people in front, two facing completely left (and absolutely unable to look right), and the other two facing completely right (and unable to look left).

                                    O.M.G.

An elaborate attraction designed in the round, with guests supposed to be able to look in all directions (except directly behind them). This change, if it goes through as pictured, will restrict 80% of the guests to viewing only in one direction, and missing half of the show. This is absurd!

And, huh, going down the big drop facing ... sideways?!?! This has got to be a mistake.

They're just sitting that way because they would be too unstable facing foward. You can see that they were tied to the sides. That doesn't signify a change in the seating configuration.

If they tied the guests to the sides, that would solve the problem of going down the drop sideways.
