Jungle Cruise Stairs out for Repair

While looking at the progress of the Jungle Cruise Rehab, I noticed that the stairs leading to the upper portion of the queue have been taken out. The railings are still in place, so I am guessing that we will be getting new stairs.







(These pictures were taken through a major gap in the refurb wall. No trespassing rules were broken to take the pictures.)

I cannot wait to see what they do to improve this incredible attraction!

They're being replaced with a Pixar-animated staircase...

No, you got it all wrong! They are adding a loop... just like the one they installed in the Paris version of the stairs, last year. Why do we always get cloned stuff? WHY??? I want something original on those stairs for the 50th!

maybe they will be painted gold, too? Then it won't be a direct lift from Paris

I heard they will be extending the the size of the stairs by a few inches, in order to increase capacity. So it'll be basically the same stairs experience, only with more people (if the newly configured stairs don't cause the queue to constantly break down that is).

Unfortuantly all the grand plans for the stairs have been cancelled because the budget has been slashed in half

I am still excited to see what they will do with one of my all time favorite attractions. I cannot believe they had such a huge gap in the fence.

They had to remove a large section in the fence so they can install the new Jungle Cruise: ROCK IT! sign...

In the day it is the Jungle Cruise. At night it is Jungle Turbo!

That's what the quick launch install is all about.

As for the stairs, i'll speculate that there are some OSHA or building or ADA codes to comply with. Or it could just be termites

Jokes are fun, but please help to keep this thread on topic please. I posted the pictures because I thought people would be interested in seeing the progress being made on the refurb.

That seemed like a SMACKDOWN! We can post about the refurbished stairs, but only if it fits within a certain mold? Well, it seems like that kind of attitude would limit the exchange of new ideas, laughter and information (albeit lighthearted).

I guess, what I am saying is, we WERE on topic... silly, but on topic. Just because the posts don't always venture down the avenue people (or Mice Chat Moderators) expect doesn't make those posts less valuable.

Of course I could be wrong, as my opinions are usually not deemed acceptable for public consumption.

Anyway, I always loved the major refurb they did on the JC, because it was themed very nicely. I loved the animatronic parrots and other birds they had around and the interesting exotic relics. I hope they fix the stairs in time! Probably needed a fix cause every time I went on JC, they made us go upstairs.... they're probably widening it.
