The Sailing Ship Columbia requires climbing a flight of stairs to get aboard the gangway, so the person has to have some mobility - or a few strong people to pick you up and carry you on board. But they will give you a few minutes to do it.

On the Mark Twain it's a simple roll-on - but only when the ship is partially loaded, and they will stop the process at the right time for you. The Twain rides a bit high off the dock when the ship is empty, and a good drop when full.

And don't get your hopes up too much - it's a kitchen, not Club 33 itself. And it's a rather cramped kitchen at that - they do most of the prep work in the Main Kitchen at the basement level.

Missviolet, I was asking these questions before my first trip to Disneyland last year. These are some of the special things that I did.

Took a picture of the sign that's over the tunnel as you first enter the park.

Notice the light in the apartment over the firehouse. It is kept lit in hon of Walt Disney.

Ride the train all the way around the park. I love the dioramas.

Have a silouhette done in the silouhette shop.

Go in, I believe it is the Marketplace and listen to the oldtime party line conversation, on the phone on the wall.

Go to the Baby Center and see Walt Disney's baby picture.

I have more. I need to locate my "Remember List".

Go toss a couple of coins into the Wishing Well and listed to Snow White sing.

Definitely, it's a must do on my list.
And look for the old center of Disneyland on the Fantasyland side of Sleeping Beauty Castle, after you took a group picture in front of the castle

* Read the tombstone in the pet semetary, while in line for Haunted Mansion
* Have dinner at the French Market while the Side Street Strutters play some pretty cool dixieland jazz. I love the spinach salad.
* Grab some freshly popped popcorn and an ice cold coke and watch the crowds go by at the Hub.
* Glance up at the window above the Snow White ride, just in time to see the Evil Queen staring down at you.
* Ride Storybookland at night
* Cruise through the Castle first thing in the morning and enjoy the sounds of the carousel.

You asked what there was to do at DCA. To be honest, I would say if you hit Tower of Terror, (So fun!) and Soaring, and California screamin', Monster's inc. and the Maliboomer, I would say you would cover the park. Of course if you dont mind getting wet, then Girzzly river run is a must. But be prepared, I always manage to be drenched, so proceed with caution. Also, I am some what partial to Mullholand Madness, but it is very jerky so be prepared for that also! I hope there is nothing I am leaving out. Have fun!!!!

i've never been to disneyland before, only WDW, but in a few weeks, POTC will reopen, i'd do that! i'm going to anaheim this week, should my family go to DL and DCA on thurs or friday? and in an unrelated issue, i can't see the lists of topics in sub-forums and this reply box takes FOREVER to type in.. any ideas on my problem here? it still doesnt work in IE.. i usually use firefox.

EDIT: WEIRD... guess it was a new member thing, the magic of disney prevails! haha.

also, maynard is supposed to be in frontier/adventureland? i wanna find that guy-he's a symbol of real dedication personality and service that's lacking in many people today.

Thursdays are usually less pack then Fridays although during the summer, really any day is a gamble.
I am going on friday! I know, you may want to plan your trip around me, go ahead! Also, if you have ever heard of a band name Sandbox they will be at club buzz on Friday night so that might be something to check out. (www.Sandboxband.net)

Also, maynard can be hard to find, but I seem to see him on mainstreet a lot helping with crowd control before parades and the fireworks. Hope thats some help to you and HAVE FUN!!!

Hahah no, he isn't Maynard from TOOL although that is exactly what I though the first time i heard his name too. He is just a really cool CM who sings, dances, makes you laugh so hard soda comes out your nose (At least in my case haha) You can go to his website. www.maynardland.com

grr. the hours are better on friday, and i'd like to have some time to get some good nighttime photographss, but fantasmic is dark on the 16th...

i'm thinking friday is the way to go , but since it's summer, the crowds cant be THAT much worse than thurs, right?..
