  • Pregnancy and Disneyland rides

I am eager to visit Disneyland this summer.
And, I am in my first trimester.

Which rides are the safest ones for me? Of course, I will avoid Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Matterhorn and Big Thunder. Is it safe to ride
the Pirates of the Caribbeans and/or the Mad Hatter's tea cups?

I purchased an annual pass in the month of March and I would like to use it again before I am too big to sit in the rides.

Most rides will have warnings if they're too rough during pregnancy. If you don't spin the tea cups, I don't think it would be a problem. Most rides would probably be OK as long as you avoid the ones you listed above.

you should be able to go on POTC... considering the 2 drops aren't that big and the rest of the ride is pretty slow

        I wouldnt risk POTC.

SOrry, but my mom had a miscarriage in her first trimester from riding it.

        It was really sad.

Yikes! I didn't know that pregnancy was so delicate. CAn you lose a baby if you trip or anything like that? Sorry about your Mom, Steaky.

          :0)

To live would be an awfully big adventure.

Indiana Jones is on that list too unfortunately also.

As pixie chick said most are posted.

My wife is in our first trimester and we steered clear of most of those you listed.

Gee, i forgot about Indiana Jones. I love Indy.
Ah shucks. I purchase an annual pass
              and I get pregnant.

Another use for my annual pass,
              as a fertility talisman.

i went on POTC during both pregnancies(and with a newborn) i wouldnt go on anything that it posted not to. i know someone who actually went on coasters at six flags(i wouldnt do that myself) but her dr told her to go on whatever she felt comfortable with and that if she was going to have any problems they would happen no matter what. personally i thought she was a little psycho(she went on goliath!) so i would suggest talking to your dr and going with you "gut" feeling(pun intended!)

Go on a few big rides and maybe he/she will be a thrill seeker when he/she is older. Now that would be a fun science experiment. My sister in-law went on pirates while she was pregnant, but if someone had problems with it I wouldn't risk it. It's not worth it. Just enjoy the atmosphere and do the little stuff you probably don't usually do otherwise.

She's lucky she didn't end up with a scrambled baby omlet. Dang, I would be so worried the whole time!

On another note, I agree that talking to your doctor really is the best idea, and if you talk to guest relations at the park I'm sure they can give you a full list of what would be safe to ride.

Also: MissViolet to answer your question, pregnancies can be very delicate for some women, and others are built like army tanks. It just depends on the woman. Falling has caused Miscarriages before but it has to be a hard fall I'm sure.

I say go to city hall see if there is a guide or list.

Pregnant women and guests suffering from critical medical ailments should avoid rides and attractions that travel at high rates of speed or are extremely turbulent. If you should have specific questions about a particular ride or attraction, please ask a park attendant prior to entering the line

I just went to WDW, in my 4th month, and I did not ride the teacups. Although while not pregnant I would have ridden every ride in the park, especially rollercoasters, I just could not do it pregnant. Just looking at the teacups was enough for me. My doctor had told me to use my best judgement and only do what I felt comfortable going on, but of course, stay off the rollercoasters. I went on Peter Pan, IASW, Buzz, etc...
