I'm new, so I apologize if this question has already been answered. When California Adventures first opened, there were waves in the lake. From what I read, it was a rather elaborate system. The last few times I was at the park (about a year ago), the waves were gone. What happened?

Its something that is used mostly during summer now for some unknown reson and even the they dont turn them on. the wave machine it self can kick out very big waves but because of the coaster and sun wheel they keep them fairly small. They where put in to look like the wave was pushing the coaster at the take off point like you were riding it but they never got the timming together and forgot it all together.sigpic

Its great waiting for launch and you get soaked by a wave...ahhh...nowhere to go, stuck to your seat, great on sunny days (different story for cloudy/rainy days...). Yes, I love the waves and watching them crash on the breakers next to the track. I've seen them working occasionally but I wish they'd go more often. I wonder if they could control the shape enough to get surfers out there, that's be really cool and California-y too.
