CoP - AS - Innoventions - ???

Ready for another poll? For a brief moment I considered DCA vs. Parking Lot, but decided that would be gratuitous.

OK...I'm kidding.

There's been a lot of talk regarding that marvelous rotating theatre in TL. Let's find out what you think should be done with it... if anything. This poll will remain open for 7 days.

America Sings was a good show but NOT AT ALL futuristic.

I liked Carousel of Progress.... but maybe merging Carousel of Progress with a rotaing resturant like the one in WDW-Epcot would be cool also. You can watch how technology and space travel has changed over the years while enjoying a great meal.

Possibly keep Innoventions if it is fixed up and has interesting exhibits, but if that isn't going to happen, put something new in there. It's a very large building and could hold something huge...

:botox: I remember a couple of years ago going to see Innovations and it was neat, With all the flat screen t.v's and V.R rooms. but we've been there done that with that kind of technology. I was there last week and its turned into a video arcade, the V.R rooms were out of order and most of the computers had games on them! I think Innovations is out dated and I have most of that technology in my home. That is a big area that can be utilized in such a more productive way! :botox:

I loved the Carousel of Progress. It was, without a doubt, my favorite ride as a kid.

But I think I'd rather see something new and entirely different in that building; something that actually fits the theme of "a step into the future, with predictions of constructive things to come."

I love COP. I loved America Sings. But Innoventions is an abomination devised by a group of people who ran the parks simply to sell you things-- nothing else. The way it was going the entire DLR was going to be a Disney Store. That said...

The theater is a wonder even in 2005. I just saw COP again at WDW and even though it is great, its time has come and gone I'm afraid. America Sings could and should not ever be duplicated although it too was fantastic in its day. I think that Imagineering should devise a new five part show for the theater. But whatever happens, I would be truly sad to see the COP building torn down!

Actually, I like Innoventions as a concept, but not necessarily in the CoP building.
We just returned from WDW and saw CoP and although it could use an update, it
was still a lot of fun. (My daughter rode on it three times, back to back. And she's
still humming/singing the song!) I think I saw America Sings (once), but don't
remember anything about it sufficiently to comment. But agree that it wasn't
futuristic at all, so that's shouldn't be brought back IMHO.

So I would vote for somthing new, even a improved CoP... maybe 3D?

That building has been a cursed one since it was built since people who have been killed or injured there. PUT MISSION: SPACE THERE!! It is the perfect location for it since it needs a round space. It is a great location which should not be waited with the stupid innoventions! :monkey: I have had great memories of COP. I loved it too. But it is time to move on. I saw COP at WDW last year and it has not been updated. The AA's are falling apart and the total show suffers because of it. It looks like stiff, talking plastic figures whose mouths don't move very well. Let's look to the future with new adventures and new experiences!!

Yeah...Mission: SPACE isn't round, it's a square...a single centrifuge is round, but you need more than one to have reasonable capacity (Mission: SPACE has four). The building would require major modifications to hold SPACE.

The only possibility would be to keep the front half of the building circular to hold the queue, and then the back half would be extended back to be rectangular. The Innoventions building is as wide as SPACE, just not as long. There is room behind Innoventions for such an expansion though.

As much as I think a restaurant would be fun I think Tomorrowland does need more to experience than food since the Club Buzz area and Pizza Port already serve food. What does that say? Walk up food is obviously the answer to the future... fast food. But in all seriousness removing a LARGE exhibit for a large restaurant doesn't do it for me, even if it rotates. Plus, be stuck seeing a wall so do don't see backstage or would just see over Autopia? I have no clue. All I know is that a change is needed! I don't exactly remember America Sings since I was two when it closed, but it looked cute. I LOVE CoP when I have been on that! But I would love something new.

Just keep the talk to Stitch! I love hearing Stitch talk... and make those Darth impressions!!

I really like it and it has increased Epcot's attendance by more than 10% since it opened...someone likes it...the only reason it wouldn't be cloned is the $100,000,000+ price tag.

A new attraction please! That building is huge and could house a nice E-ticket and a restaurant on top that rotates as well. I wonder if this could happen for the 5 year plan. I feel sorry for the people who work at Innoventions. That place is... *face palms*

Try to remember that Innoventions is essentially a hands-on version of CoP. The ideas that CoP presented were cool, and it appears that we all love the concept of being presented these ideas in a 'show' format. Yet when we are given the opportunity to interact with updated ideas that could very well be integrated into a modern version of Cop, we scourn. Would we be as angry with Innoventions if the corporation aspect was removed, and everything had a generic Disney label, as if the ideas came from Disney? Try to remember, Disneyland has relied extensively on other peoples money since day one. I don't see people griping about the fact that Star Tours is sponsored by Energizer; or that Indy is brought to you by AT&T. Or that you can't buy a Pepsi anywhere on site.
Remember, too, that the building sat empty for about 10 years. I'd like to see a new attraction built in the building, but not a cloned one. Innoventions can stay until I come up with a real gem!
