WOWWWEEE what a time Dusty and I had at the resort today. It was a BIG day as it would be our first time meeting TinkPink. We also were going to be meeting up with afew new friends who were in town from San Francisco later in the afternoon that we had not met in person berfore. Sooooo Away we go!

Dusty and I arrived at the usual time, 12:00pm, and phoned the group at the meet telling them to call us if they headed off to lunch berfore we got there.

The Trams were moving at a brisk pace. Props to the Transportation department!!!

The gates were all open and unusually free of over crowding. It was such a breath of fresh air to be able to walk up to a turnstyle that had no wait and walk right into the park.

We rushed to the hub in a busy but navicable Main Street. The meet was HUGE today with many wonderful new faces and old friends.

New recruits are taught at the alter of the Church of Walt.

    TinkPink and Paige.

    Judimouse in mid-gab.

    Borneo the Visionary!

    Dustysage and Lindyhop

We decided on Rancho Zocalo for lunch and headed over.

    MMMMMMMMMM Chicken Sonora Burrito. Deeee-licious!

    TinkPink and son.

    Sunnygirl and Anders

Lunch was over and we all headed over to Pirates. There was a problem, however, as the line did not seem to be moving. Dusty sent me to inspect the situation. I promptly perched myself on the step of the Disney Gallery and looked down at the line carefully.

A Pirates Banner with the courtyard below.

I called Dusty and explained that the line had not budged. "Oh that's okay," Dusty said on the cell phone, "We'll come up and look around the gallery and wait to see what happens with Pirates." A portion of the group headed up to the Gallery and we looked a the new props on display from POTC2.

    SusieP. and Olympicnut discuss art.

We then got the word that Pirates had begun to move again and we headed back down. The line moved quickly.

    The overflowing trashcan was removed.

On the way out I noticed the Handicap line snaking out of the exit to Pirates. I think it is abhorent that the disabled are subjected to such a grueling, snail paced line, in the hot sun with NO SHADE. I understand that there may be a difficulty in loading some with disabilities and that causes some delays in operation for the ride, but there has to be a better way to work this system. The last people that need to be in the hot sun are the disabled.

The disabled line entrance to Pirates where the line can reach waits of up to 2 hours in the broiling sun.

The new Pirate atmosphere group was out and VERY entertianing.

The main group decided to go ride Big Thunder and I was in the mood for a more cool, indoor ride. Dusty and I broke off froim the group and headed for Mansion. This people eater of a ride had only a 5 minute wait and we got right on.

The new Bride was looking wonderfully macabre.

After that we wanted to take advantage of our 3:25 fast passes for Space Mountian and we hopped onto the Disneyland Railroad.

A birds nest at the New Orleans Square Station.

We arrived in Tomorrowland and I quickly deduced that in the future there would be NO SHADE!!!!

The new seating behing the Club Buzz Stage.

So again the crowds were pretty light as indicated by the queue sign for one of the most popular rides in the park.

After stepping off of Space I got a call from our friends from San Francisco, Scott and his husband Shane. They had just gotten to the park and were ready to meet up. Dusty and I were truly beat and we explained that we could not stay much longer but still would love to meet up. "How 'bout UVA Bar?" Scott suggested. "PERFECT!" I said. "We'll be right there."

On our way out we ran into the Dapper Dans entertaining the crowds.

We decided to take a peak at the new Mad Hatter exit shop.

It wasn't that bad. It looks fine. Yeah it's a shop, but I mean, that space really was not being used. I don't know. I wasn't bothered by it.

We ran by the restroom on the way out and as I stood there near the exit to the happiest place on Earth I got rather introspective. Looking up at the Train station, the breeze carresing the trees and making the leaves dance, seeing the atmosphere around me I realized just how much I love Disneyland. It is a wonderful refuge of timeless fantasy and Americana where I have always been able to come and play. Such a very magical place for me.

Now off to the Uva Bar!

    Scott, Shane, Dusty and Fishbulb

We ran through Downtown Disney ad finally met up with Scott and Shane. Nice guys. We chatted for a while and enjoyed the scene. Dusty and I would have loved to sticka around but we were tired. After saying goodbye we left the bar and hopped on the next available tram. Again the trams were moving very quickly. Good job.

It was a nice day, but too hot. It was a pleasure to meet TinkPInk (She is a total babe and so nice) and nice to see so many great friends. I can't wait for the next trip.
