  • Best Time To Go?

I am torn between which week in August to go to Disneyland. I am looking at either the week of August 20th or the week of the 27th. There seem to be pluses and minuses for either week. The 20th, the parks are open longer and there is more entertainment. But that is the week of the return of the annual passes. The 27th may present lower attendance levels because some kids are back at school, but the parks close earlier and the entertainment is sparse. I am willing to go this week, but will the crowd levels really be different from the week before?

I called the onsite hotels and they are wide open both weeks. That seems strange for two weeks in summer. Last year they were sold out for much of the summer. Could these summer weeks be slower then usual? Or is it a mirage?

Please Help!! I need some professional guidance!

So Cal AP's will probably want their last kicks before their blocked out. So yes, the attendance level might be quite different.

I think this really all depends on what priorities you have with what you want to do at the park. If you really want to see all of the entertainment and that's a huge priority, then I'd say go while they're around. If you're more of a ride-priority type person, then I'd suggest going the week after.

    Good luck!

Flip a coin.. that should work!
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

The coin flip is probably the best advice I could get. But I just don't know if the majority of schools are back in session the last week of August. If they are, and that impacts the crowd levels greatly, I am willing to give up some of the entertainment. But if the attendance is basically the same, then it wouldn't be worth going that week.

Some schools might be back in the last week of August, but for most, it's the first week of September.
