    Any favorites?

We enjoyed ESPNzone for the game room and the food.

I love JOES CRAB shack on harbor blvd, yes I know its a chain but I think the seafood is fresher (is that a word) being close to the ocean.

Good suggestion. We don't have fresh seafood out here in the desert!

This one restaraunt inside Knotts Berry Farm, not the Chicken one but inside the park in Ghost Town, themed like an old fashioned western restaraunt. Fantastic ribs!

My favorite too, but you sort of have to have a larger group to make it work!

There is no food in the area that's favorite-worthy... it's all corporate cr4p. Huge portions of mediocre (at best) food, the American Way!

Millie's on Harbor, especially for breakfast. Its not a trip to SoCal if you don't have Millie's.

Mimi's was also good, but we have that up here.

Uhh...Joe's is a huge chain and almost everything is frozen, just like Red Lobster. Proximity to the ocean has no effect on their food. It's not like they're venturing down to the dory fisherman of Newport to pick up the catch of the day.

The freshest seafood in the area (not counting the big-bucks places) can be found at Chinese restaurants (especially in Westminster and Garden Grove)...because the crabs, lobsters, shrimp, fish, etc., are alive up until they're prepared. It doesn't get any fresher than that. Most places will prepare simple steamed crab or lobster if you don't like Asian style preparations (but ginger and green onion dungeness crab is amazing).

As far as restaurants in the immediate area, I have to agree with Flint; they're mostly run-of-the-mill corporate chains...the same ones that are in virtually every metro area these days. It's not that they're terrible (though some are), it's just that they offer nothing like what you can find by venturing a bit further away. There are many wonderful restaurants in Orange County, but most DL tourists will never try them.

Millie's!!! It's on Harbor, across the street from the resort, adjacent to the Fairfield Inn and next to McDonald's. Great food at reasonable prices.
