  • Merchandise Information Needed

    Hi all,

Ok...the situation is this...my dad passed away about 4 months ago. He was a 26 year veteran of the Disneyland Resort. My mother was going through some of his things recently and has come across tons of Disney stuff she had no idea he had. She has mentioned some pins that she knows the public does not have, close to ten years worth of Holiday pins and buttons..Etc. What I would like do for her is to ultimatly get some kind of value on this merchandise.

Does anyone have an idea of where I can start looking?

Start by just typing Disney Pins into a search engine and there are lots of sites that post pin catalogues with their values.
If the collection is really large, you might try to find a Disneyana appraiser to come and look at the collection and give you some idea of its value.

Is she interested in selling it, or just knowing its value?

In am sorry for your loss.

I think she wants to sell. I believe my dad left as a sort of investment for her.

after 26 years there is all kinds of stuff there, artwork and everything.

Yeah, I would definitely consider trying to track down an expert appraiser- or maybe even listing it on ebay. If the collection is that large, enlisting the help of a pro might be wise- then they could auction it off for her maybe- I have seen many large collections auctioned off on ebay by an independant auction house.

Try www.mouseman.com- looks like the site of an appraiser who will sell the stuff for you.

          another site is www.disneyanaexchange.com

also, if you look in the yellow pages, I am sure there are many people local to california that specialize in disney stuff.

          Good luck!

A good venue for selling some of the stuff off could be the NFFC convention coming to Anaheim in July. You can get a table for somewhere around $75 and have access to hundreds of collectors. It's held at the Crowne Plaza on Harbor on July 10th.

Also take a look at Pinpics.com. You can, at least, get information about the pins and their rarity.

Ebay is always a good source for what the market will bear as well.
