  • DL in 2030

In 25 years (so 2030), Disneyland will turn 75. Does anyone wanna predict what lands/rides will be gone and which will be remaining and what will be new in that year?

I don't think Critter country will be gone. I think they will eventually build Discovery bay. Thunder Mountain probably will be gone, Space mountain will be there. Tomorrowland will be completly Different. Indiana Jones will be extended with all new stunning effects. California will have extended into the parkinglot behind it, TOT will be much more like the one in WDW.

I kinda think Critter Country wil be gone, and they'll be a different land instead. Critter Country makes no sense, as Pooh and Splash are not the same theme at all, yet there in the same land.

They should just extend DCA into the parking lot right now instead of waiting 25 years.

I don't like the Pooh ride, but don't think it clashes as badly with Splash as some of you guys do. it's woods queue and load area works fine with Spalsh Mt. The ride itself is bad...and I hate Pooh. But that is another topic.
WALT'S DISNEYLAND DEDICATION SPEECH! - To all who come to this happy place, welcome! Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth can savour the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will become a source of joy, and inspiration to all the world.

Due to Google buying and selling off the parks...by 2030 Disneyland will have been dismanted and sent to the Smithsonian where it is in storage,(some rides are shown in museums, like the Tiki Room at MOMA). The 3D virtual version lives online and the imagery is displayed as reality inside our brains from tiny Sony implants. You can choose the lands you like best and and experience all the old rides whenever you want. Not uinlike the Matrix, you can choose to move and live 24/7 into the virtual DL and leave yourself on the sofa. Dating Snow White is a popular pastime.

There will however, be suited men in black with dark glasses kicking anyone out that is giving virtual tours..

California will have fallen into the ocean by then. But, seriously, very hard to predict. I think that some of the older attractions (like the Mark Twain) will have to be retired or replaced with the originals placed in a Disney Museum somewhere. Say, that's not a bad idea... They could build a Museum of Disney History (kind of like Yesterland, but real) and that would satisfy us old farts that never want the old attractions to go away. I know I would pay to get in...

Hmm.. in 2030 DL is owned by the great Imagination corperation which i was CEO untill they kicked me out for trying to purchase Universal as well....

Though i still get free admission and the park is restored to greatness... but some problems from the past linger as a big joke towards past management...

Have you read Cory Doctorow's Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom? I think you might like it...I wrote to him about it because I thought it was so cool and he told me that there was a time in his life when his DL AP was his only photo ID! In other words...he's one of us

I'm willing to bet that Disney will own a whole lot more of Anaheim than it does now. I'm envisioning many more Resort hotels, an expanded Monorail, and direct transportation from the Airport. I foresee AA figures that are not nailed to the floor: they can roam freely. Video postcards. Interactive, virtual reality attractions will immerse guests. (imagine a cross between Laser Tag and the Black Cauldron). GPS guide maps. Churros will come in the form of a pill.

Disneyland Antarctica will be a bust.

By 2030 DL will be officially renamed "Disneylandia", and Gov. Sanchez will be present to unveil the new official sign, along with Raton Miguelito and Pato Donald. Pasaportes will cost the equivalent of $250 US Dollars.

I also see this in Disneyland's future. Direct transportation from any airport so guests can avoid Los Angeles and the notorious freeways. I forsee another New Tomorrowland, a revamped Matterhorn with new special effects. Another New Fantasyland, inorder to faciliate the mad rush of new guests as a result of the new airport connection. Frontierland will be rehabed extensively, a new fort and Disney, feeling it necessary to give back to the native populations will open a new Native American attraction. Critter Country will become part of Frontierland to reduce confusion and integrate theming. Pooh will be flushed, replaced with either the NA attraction or an entirely new attraction. Adventureland will remain basically the same, only with an Indy Rehab featuring a real collapsing bridge, and a new Jungle Cruise mulit-sensory boat experience.

It's funny this thread came up, I actually spent a great deal of time on a Microsoft Word document I called the Disneyland 2030 project. It includes four new hotels, a new monorail line, secondary entertainment complex, DCA renovation and the 75th Birthday Edition of Disneyland!

Due to global warming Disneyland was moved to Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Mountains.
Either that or all of DL in the future resides under a climate controlled superdome.
