Okay If I went my plan would be

Go early in morning and start off:

With the fun major rides like Splash, Space M, etc.

Afternoonish start doing the smaller rides like dark rides

Night do some more random rides, then get a seat for FANTASMIC! (booyah)

Uhhh... Me? I usually go straight to the ride I have a craving for... Sometimes its the new ride, but I would say 65% of the time it is Pirates or the Mansion... Lately I have been skipping out midday for a movie at the AMC... And then hopping back into the park...

And to answer your real question, I never plan unless I'm taking someone who has never been. If that's the case, I pull out all of my AP secrets and make the most of the park, FastPass and my knowledge of what is busy when. The plan changes based on why type of day it is, how busy it is, what's open, etc.

Wow. I was actually planning Day 1 of a 4-day November trip this AM when I was at a meeting. This is what I came up with:

    Morning
    Indy
    Jungle Cruise
    Get Splash FPs
    POTC
    BTMRR
    HM
    Pooh
    Splash
    Train to Main street
Break for lunch, check in to hotel, return in PM

I'd say that starting with TL was phased out when there was nothing to do in TL. Once Space re-opens, I'm sure it'll be fast-dash-to-fast-pass again.

No plan usually, just do what we want and when we want to.

It all depends on the whim of the kids.

Straight on to Fantasyland, with a possible trip on a Main Street Vehicle along the way. Once there, we try for the following pattern, with repeat rides when the kids ask for them.

    Peter Pan
    Snow White
    Pinocchio
    Carousel
    Dumbo
    Casey Jr.
    Princess Boats (aka Storybook)
    Alice
    Mr Toad

Sometimes I am limited by rides that only have seating for two people when I am at the parks on my own with the kids.

    After FL:

    Tiki Room
    Jungle Cruise
POTC (if the kids are in the mood)
HM (if Ali is in the mood)
    Pooh
    Mark Twain/Columbia

With the addition of Buzz, we hit that ride first, at least twice.

My plan of attack depends greatly on who is with me and what ages they are.

Plan of attack with young children:
Fantasylands rides then back to Toontown and meet Mickey, Roger Rabbit, IASW, take the train around to NoS, depending on age HM, PotC, JC. At this point the park is crowed and its time to slow down and see the shows.

Plan of attack with teenagers: (assumes SM is closed)
FP Indy and head to Splash (If early enough do it twice) HM, PotC, Indy, Big Thunder, At this point the park is crowed and its time to slow down and see the shows.

Latley we ask the kids what they really want to ride and see, we then make an attack plan based on that.

I usually do a circle around DL park. We eat at the River Belle terrace for breakfast (no day at DL is complete without Mickey Mouse pancakes!), then we go to Indiana Jones. If we're there that early, usually there's hardly a line and we get through the queue rather fast.

    Then it goes like this:
(Jungle Cruise if it was open)
    PotC
    Haunted Mansion
    (get Splash Mountain fastpass)
    Big Thunder
    Storybook Land
    Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Peter Pan and whatever FL attractions
    Star Tours
    Buzz
(Go to Splash in between there)
    Main Street stuff

started a topic Plan of attack

    Plan of attack

On days when you're visiting the park (commando-style or otherwise) do you prepare a plan of attack? And if you do, what is it?

For me, it varies. There are days when I go just to see my friends, and maybe the fireworks, or maybe share in the consumption of some sort of meal. There are days when I just want to wander around aimlessly.

And then there are the days that I have a specific agenda. These are likely the days that I have guests in town, or there's something special I'm planning.

I started this thread because the Muggle BF is joining me in the park for the second time in our six months in tandem (making it his fourth time ever, considering that he went once as a toddler and once as an adult before we met.) We had a leisurely day the first time, chatting with friends, lolling about, and only riding a few of my very favorite rides. Sadly, the Peter Pan line was too long, and he suggested that we hit the park before opening next time. So my trip on Sunday is going to be a commando tour of Pan and my second-string favorites (not wanting to overdo him on the faves... Pirates, Mansion, Soarin', etc.)

Following is my desired plan. What would yours be, if you were ready and rarin' at 8 am on a Sunday? And would you tweak the order of mine at all?

    Peter Pan's Flight
    Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
    Alice in Wonderland
    Big Thunder Mountain
    (Fetch FP for Indy)
    Splash Mountain
    Indiana Jones
    Tiki Room
    (Fetch FP for ToT)
It's Tough to be a Bug
    Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
