50th Decorations

As the 50th celebration gets closer, signs of the coming events are showing up everywhere. Yesterday (Wednesday, 20th), I noticed the jewels appear on Sleeping Beauty Castle. I'm not sure how recent they are but I think they're new. Here's a look!

I don't know if they physically light up, but the nice new lighting system will certainly make them sparkle at night...it'll be really nice to see the Castle changing color every 20-30 seconds at night...that's one effect I really love at WDW.

Egads, for some reason that first shot of the back looks particularly loathesome. I don't hate it yet...but it's creeping ever closer.

I agree on the 50's, but it's only for a little while (comparatively) and they are fun to see how they are worked into the theming. It'll just take a while to get used to, that's all.

Well dont they look like the kind of lights you find on carnival rides in the travelling midway *wink wink* I am guessing they are lights, maybe they help with the lasers for tomorrowland sequence

I'll have to see them in person to tell whether I like them or not... My concern is that the castle looses it's forced perspective because the jewels are so big, reinforcing the Barbie effect of the castle re-do. Maybe with all the other decorations in place in the thick of the celebration it will all look right. I'm hopeful.

I disagree with you completly. Yes, this is an internet board, and most people have an opinion about stuff. You voiced that you don't like the 50's, and someone said you were being negative, which in a way, you are. It's not that people care about you persay, but you have to be ready for someone not to agree with your OPINIONS. If you can say anything you want, so can they, and there was no reason for this mini outburst on your part.
