When? After the whole flooding thing... It just seems like it would take a while to fix...

Naw they fixed that overnight. The ride has already closed and opened again so dont worry about it. I found out it was closed on the 21st. Here is the thread and some pics about it: http://www.miboards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24348

The only thing is, make sure you sit in the back if you are big like me. I got placed in the front, and I had NO ROOM for my feet. And I got soaked.

                  Great ride photo though.

Well, I guess they was much ado about nothing. What happened? Did they resurrect the old logs?

Didn't I read somewhere that the old logs got scrapped so they can't bring them back??
And I thought they weren't allowing riders in the back because of a log weight issue.
I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.
That explains the trouble that I'm always in...

Well that's what we've been told this entire time, but this new evidence sounds more likely. I mean they did test out the logs with plenty of weight, so why would the logs have a weight issue? But then again I don't know the specifics on how they did the weight distribution. Since the people that formulated and tested these logs are supposed to be professionals, it doesn't seem likely that the weight was the problem. But I don't know.

I agree there, I don't know how they could design the logs with out remembering the factor of weight. If weight in the back is the problem then they were very poorly designed.

It was never the issue of weight. The problem has been fixed and the logs now run at full capacity (up to 7 guests)

Wasn't it an issue of fixing the brakes to not get caught on the logs? Also I heard the handles were coming off so they needed to be replaced.

It was the handles. They were coming off so it was not safe to put guests in the back seat, and that's why it only took one day to fix the problem--they needed to get new parts, which is the reason for the delay in fixing the problem, but once they had them, it was a simple fix.

So what was the deal with the flooding of the controll room?

This is the best news I have heard in days!

It is one of my favorites. I used to be terrified of the drop, I would even hold my breath.
But after 10 years of being scared, I threw my hands up one time, and felt such excitement! Now I do it every time.
Goin around the world...and back to Disneyland!
