  • Grad Nite/AP Pass Q

Hi there. My Grad Nite is coming up this year...unfortunately my family is awfully tight on money, and ironically enough two of our cars (the only ones I can drive of course) have broken down and need serious fixing. Needless to say, with Prom and Graduation and all that other fun pricy stuff, my parents have stated that some things have to be cut.

So they made me choose between Grad Nite or my graduation present-an AP pass to DL.

Now obviously I chose the AP pass...but I was wondering if any of you knew...if I tried to buy an AP pass along with my Grad Nite ticket, would the AP pass suffice for the GN ticket itself? Thanks!

Nope. Grad Night is a separate admission. If you're not sure, call guest relations and they can give you the full scoop!

Try and get a job in a hurry to pay for your GN ticket yourself!

That's what I had to do.

      But it was worth it.

Y'know, if ticket prices were more reasonable, you could do both.

        THANKS A LOT, EISNER!

(Of course, I bring this up somewhat tongue-in-cheek.)
My fondest memory of Walt Disney was the day Disneyland opened....I was standing next to him - I was 12 years old - he was looking at the gate where people were coming through, he had his hands behind his back, he had a grin from ear to ear, but you could see the lump in his throat and the tear coming down his cheek because his dream had been realized. -- Mouseketeer Sharon Baird, "Mouseke-Memories", Walt Disney Treasures: The Mickey Mouse Club

I'd go work there in a flash if it weren't for the fact that I live so far away. Pooie.

Well I'm e-mailing them just to double-check but I doubt I'll get to go. Grr.

The ticket price went up at least $5 from last year!

I think she was suggesting to get a job anywhere and make the money for the ticket yourself. You can check at your counselors office to see if there is a job service that can help you out- maybe you can temp or find a couple odd jobs that will pay enough to pay for the ticket.

Have a garage sale. Wash the neighbors cars. Mow lawns. Sell some stuff on eBay.

              You can do it!

Good luck, I still have fond memories of my Grad Night and that was many moons ago.

Do It!! I wish I could have gone. That would have been more fun than mini Casino night in the student commons. Sure learning to play Black Jack and having my dad (one of the Black Jack dealers) slide me extra cash was nice, but I would have rather been at DL!

^ It's different evenings, depending on what school you go to.

Here is some motivation (like you need any more)...

Earn your way to GN by working odd jobs or whatever and I'll treat you to a Dole Whip to enjoy while you're there!

                      You can do it!

                      Good luck!

                        Yes, that's what I mean.

I paid for my grad night AND prom myself. I didn't touch a red cent of my first three paychecks for ANYTHING else other than those two events.

Assuming you live close to dl, you don't have to pay for long transport. So how much are they charging to go? And can you still sign up for it, cause up here we have a waiting list that people have been waiting on for a while.

I know that even though I live in the Valley (a reasonable driving distance away at the time we'd have had to be there) they required that we come by bus, just to keep things more orderly. So, that may not be an opportunity for savings.

I would definitely like to join the chorus of "Sell your prized possessions for the opportunity to go to grad nite!" It'll be all the more precious if you have to work hard for it.
