Rocket Jets - Up or Down?

OK... one last Tomorrowland poll. (I guess this is the land that seems the most controversial... or troubled!) We'll move off to another land next time but let's just settle this one question once and for all. I have a particular affinity for the Rocket Jets... er... Astro Orbiter... ROCKET JETS DAMMIT!

Ah hem...

Where should the ROCKET JETS be? Back up on the gantry? Right where they are? Somewhere else? Gone completely?

I like the rocket jets, neat design and all, but I never saw them in there original spot, but I think they should go back, make it nice and tall, great viewpoint of the park

The Rocket Jets up high on their tower was a far better, more thrilling and more unique attraction than AO will ever be out blocking traffic at the hub.

^ Yeah, I think it would be better if Rocket Jets were moved back to their original spot, way up high. I mean the observatron really doesn't fit in with the new color scheme, and the Rocket Jets kind of obstruct the entrance of Tommorowland. I wouldn't suggest they move it until the PM track has something moving on there again, though.

I've said it many times

move it up use one of the ride systems for Alladin's magic carpets in Adventureland (use the jets or use the orbiter I don't care which)

put a fountain in place of the orbiter with the marble in the center and a way to walk through the fountain without getting wet

bam you get forground motion and background motion AND you make the cosmic waves marble more noticable and rid it of having all the other problems because people can no longer run through the actual fountains


I've also many times noted that the Rocket Jets were origionaly called Astro Jets and were on the ground so theoreticaly if they were to move the Astro Orbiter off the ground it's name would change to the Rocket Orbiter :lol:

I'm SO wanting them to scrap the O'Crapatron (who the heck thought of building a movable piece of junk with old satellite dishes in the first place?), and put the Rocket Jets back where they belong!! Heck, I'd even be happy with the Astro Orbiter going up there in its current form (but not paint scheme). But, instead, we have the "Dumbo Orbiter" at the east side of Main Street. Bleh!

actualy that scrap heap wasn't built so much so as the fact that it IS the old rocket Jets they just put some speakers up there for sound took the rockets off and put satilite dishes on it

the astro orbiter has a much heavier motion base and also has more arms for higher capacity

I think they should put the Dumbo Jets back on top of the Peoplemover station WHEN THEY REHAB THE PEOPLEMOVER!!

Darn! Someone took my idea... (well partially) I say they put the astro orbitor in the place of where Cosmic waves used to be. And put the marbal where astro orbitor is now, with a really cool Tomorrowland sign circling it, or near it. And if they move the astro orbitor to the cosmic waves location, there will be much much more room at the entrance of TL. And it wont effect much in the cosmic waves area because not much people walk right through the middle of the area, most people walk around.

Oh yea, they would have to give the astro orbitor a LOT more silver paint, and some blue. And change the spinning pieces of space junk into sleek marbal replicas of planets. Have earth, mars, Jupiter, Saturn with it's ring... etc. etc. It would have the theme of Spinning around the solar system!

Observatron is ugly, but since I dont ride them (and admit it, none of us would if they were up high, we'd just take em for granted or put kids on them), I dont care where the Rocket Jets are. Just as long as they dont cause a bottleneck (they only kinda do right now).

The problem with this would be that it would block space mountain and cause a traffic jam there instead of the hub. If you notice where cosmic waves is is where huge crowds occured when Tomorrowland was very busy. I think you are just asking for problems by putting it in front of space mountain, plus you would block that nice new sign for space mountain/rock it mountain. They should go up where they belong above the peoplemover track. What I think they should do with cosmic waves is convert it back into a fountain but not a walk in. I think they could make an awesome fountain with a light show.

Oho! I ride them! And I would definitely ride them if they were up high. They're just a carnival ride, but just like their carnival brethren, they're immensely fun to ride if you have friends in the immediate front and back of you to yell at

Remake it entirely with the NASA/Apollo motif. It worked in 1967 and it still works today. I always liked the idea of Tomorrowland also being the "Disneyland Spaceport". I've been watching NASA-TV lately and there's a TON of drama just WAITING to be exploited by Tomorrowland insofar as humankind's continuing reach into space - the Hubble Telescope, the Mars Rover, the Cassini-Huygens flybys of Saturn and Titan, Deep Impact, the International Space Station, the return to the Moon, manned Mars landings.....we have a future in space, and Disneyland needs to continue its support of NASA and keep dreaming for the stars and inspiring us!
