  • Casey Jr. Down

I'm honestly surprised this hasn't shown up on the various, um, "hardcore" Disneyland sites, but Casey Jr. has been closed since apparently last Saturday or so. Just thought I'd pass on the word... looks like a bit of track or structure over the Storybook tunnel after the big hill is torn out, though it's kinda unclear. There was a bunch of feax rockwork screening and a chunk missing right above the CASEY topiary letters, visible from the path today. I guess the weight of circus trains over the years caught up with the structure of the hill. Off the record the CM expected it to be reopened by sometime this coming weekend, but the first thing you'll probably hear on asking is that Casey ran out of steam and needed a day off.

Hope nobody's going to collapse of disappointment from not being able to cram in a little cage and rumble around Storybook Land in the next few days! (I wanna ride in the MONKEY cage! The MONKEEEEYYY CAAAAAGGGGEEEE!!!!!)

I hope that it gets fixed before my trip to Disneyland at the end of the month. I really enjoyed riding that ride.

I rode it just last week for the first time. I rarely ever even see the train or Storybook Land.

I've actually been going on Casey Jr. more often as of late. I've found more appreciation in it as an adult than as a child.
          Woof!

I used to drive those trains.
There was one night, the trip wire switch that starts the chain hill motor broke. The speed of the train took us about a quarter of the way up...but then, it just stopped. Casey, pointed at the stars, full of guests, and not going anywhere.
That was the last time I slept at the controls. :lmao:
Luckily, we were only running one train. Ahh...the good ol' days... :crybye:

Yeah, my boyfriend and I were very suprised when we went this past Monday and saw the track and line empty. I think he was actually going to be willing to go on it, too We opted for Storybook.

Hope Casey gets his needed rest

                  Sadako...lol great picture!

I really enjoy this and the Storybook Land boats (although I know that's an unpopular opinion on this board). Great picture Sadako!

OH, NO! This is my son's favorite ride in the park (next to the DLRR).

Hope they can get it fixed quick.

                        Re: Casey Jr. Down

It's obviously not being closed for refurb since Disneyland.com does not have it listed. So why would they close the ride?

Well I just called Disneyland and they said that it should be opened back up by the 16th of this month. It has been down for a few days. Of course everything can change at the last minute too .

That's a week away. Safety is the most important thing, of course.

And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
                              It was pain

I knew you'd feel the same things...
