  • I need some Disneyland insite from the experts...

Okay... I see alot threads about Disneyland and was wondering about planning a trip (not now but hopefully next year maybe even 2 yrs I said hopefully).
So now i'm asking the experts please tell me. Im sure some have been there more than once so with your experience whats good to do there so that way I have some insite on what to do first or what to see. I know for sure i'm gonna stay at one of there hotels. So lets just say I would like to go for a week. Will that cover everything Disneyland Park and Disneyland California Adventure Park. I already been to WDW and had alot of fun. So I know if I go to DL it would be just as great. And if anyone has been there in August can you tell what the weather was like or how crowded it was. Any information will be of great help.....

    Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your at the resort a whole week...you should be able to ride and see everything 2-3 times.

      A week?!?!
You're gonna be an expert yourself after a week.
Don't even worry about not having enough time to see and do. You'll have plenty of time.

I just wanna make sure I get the whole experierence being out there. Ive been to Florida already and know where to go and what to do. I checked out the DL site to see what attractions they had but sometimes when you have other people advice on shows and attractions it makes it whole lot easier.

The Disneyland Resort is much smaller than WDW. There are only 2 parks...California adventure only being about a half day park (think animal kingdome), and a downtown disney shopping district. That being said...a week might be overkill. For someone who's never been there and wants to go during the summer...i'd say 4....maybe 5 days would be plenty.
If you're going to Disneyland in the summer months (june, july, august), you can bet on two things: the park being busy and the weather being hot. If you can dely until after labor day weekend i'd highly recommend it. Crowds will be lower and it will be more comfortable weather.

I agree, a week can be much but it will at least let you take your time to enjoy it and appreciate every little thing. It's too bad you're not coming soon. If you were you could plop yourself down real early to get a great spot to see the fireworks! The show will be different when you come.

Well the only reason why i picked August is cause I know everyone should be basically go back home from vacation cause the school season. I usually like to go the last week of August. But then again i have to stop thinking that everyone starts school in September. Thanks for the heads up...

One issue with the "off-season" is that a few attractions are always being refurbished. And if an attraction unique to DL is being refurbished, then you miss out on a main reason to come here instead of taking a familiar trek to WDW.

Three days should be enough. You can then find other things to do in the SoCal area. (Since I'm not a shill for DIS, I can recommend non-DIS activities.) Sea World, Knott's, SFMM (before it closes!!), the beach, The Getty Center, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Universal, the Arboretum, Native American casinos, Palm Springs, Vegas,...

Well if you read a lot on MiceChat, and don't go to Disneyland until Next August, I guarantee that you will know exactly what you do, and do not want to do by that time.

Personally, I think that there's never enough time on my vacations. I always leave something on the "cutting room floor."

I'll second that recommendation and add that this would allow you to then slice a day off that estimate for how many days to spend there. Though for someone who has never been, and may likely have to wait years until their next visit I'd go with the high end, anyway -- five days during peak season sounds about right. Especially as you then have enough time to kick back at your hotel a bit during the hottest part of the day. It's much nicer to spend time at the pool (or even just lounging in your hotel room) than standing in long queues in blazing heat. Outside of peak season, four days will let you feel that you've truly done everything, and had a good chance to repeat the stuff you really liked as much as you wanted.

Im sure they have a fast pass system. Will that help any during peak time. Cause when I was in WDW I didnt see it or must of missed and the wait wasnt so bad.

With the amount of days that you'll be there, you won't even need a fast pass. It will come in handy for some rides and if you don't want to wait but I wouldn't rush anything. I don't want you to get bored or go through Disneyland too fast.

                          I'm jealous!
I only live about 20 miles away and I just can't find time to go as much as I want, or NEED.

How about the shows they have in the park?

                              There really aren't many actually.
Do you have kids? Well...do you have little girls? They're going to cancel a show here to do a meet and greet, get dolled up, and etiquette training with the Princesses for all little girls.
Then there's going to be Knight training for the boys.
There's Fantasmic and the fireworks and those are the main shows really.
You'll have plenty of time to see them.
