  • Any new 50th merchandise out yet?

A little while back there was a great post with some pictures of new 50th merch. out (mostly the "vintage" line of things.

I believe there was a blue collection and a brown collection
some shot glasses (oh excuse me, toothpick holders  )
    and some games,

what I'm wondering is if there is anything new since then.....
....and does anyone have any pictures?????? (please)

I am just dying of curiousity.......

    Thanks,
    -Tink

I hope they come out with more of the Retro line.

In addition, they are slated to roll out the following three lines toward the end of April/Early May:

Happiest Homecoming, Castle Icon, and Upscale

I have no idea what the "Upscale" line is. But I like the sound of it!

I got a really great brown ringer "vintage" tee... but i only got to wear it twice.

it got a little water on it and i tried drying it with the hair dryer before heading out and.. well, i'm assuming the 40% polyester in the shirt melted... cause theres a big spot on the front of the shirt now where i burned it... sure, i might have gotten the hair dryer close.. but not THAT close ..and nothing smelled like it burned... so i think the polyester just melted... does that happen?

When I went in March, one of the CM'S at the Emporium on Main Street said there are different waves of Retro coming out, in different colors and merchandise.

I just ordered mine and they had 50 left. But the CM said that the set would also be available at the Disney parks. Thanks for letting us know.

I am glad that you got yours! I ordered as well. I would have been upset if I did not get the version with the Vinyl record and the red box.

Yes, when I was there earlier this month I was told April 28th was the arrival date of the 50th merchandise. Yipee!
I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.
That explains the trouble that I'm always in...

I just got the gold nametag (is that the one you mean?) and I was told they'd only put a "real" name on it. The one I got has Bandleader Mickey (in his 50th colors) on it.
                        I want my cake back!

I went to the park a few weeks ago...there was this awesome hoddie with the DL retro logo and a yeti and a HM ghost and the PotC dog I think. I'll be going back there in June...I'm already saving up for it.

I think I posted a question about these lines before and you, Dustysage, told me late April/early May. Glad to hear other people are curious too. I'm reallly curious about this "Upscale" line. I like the sound of it too! Champagne taste with beer price pockets.

The retro came out first, pretty much everyone knows about it.

Castle Icon is the primary push at the moment. This merch wave deals mostly with the soon to be re-done SB castle, complete with crowns and banners. The merch is based around ornaments, scrapbooks, and picture frames mostly.

The Upscale line is really quite nice. The themeing on the upscale items are quite sedate and look much more 'uppidty' than they really area. What comes to mind is a scrapbook made to look like it was made out of leather, for something like $25, and stickers that are made to replicate snazzy looking wax seals for envelopes, very classy stuff.

Then there is the generic happiest homecoming stuff- mostly based around variations of the Fab 5/6 doeing their thing as with any celebration shown through plush, magnets, snowglobes, autograph books and the like..
Mickey Mouse- dressed as a band leader, to represent main street.
Minnie Mouse- dressed in a princess outfit, to represent fantasyland
Goofy- dressed up like Indy to represent Adventureland
Donald Duck- dressed up as an astronaut for Tommorwland
Pluto- given a coonskin cap to represent Frontierland
Daisy Duck- bedecked in Mardi Gras beads to represent New Orleans Square.

All in all, it is some good quality merchandise that is thankfully pushing to some of the old junk that never sold andwas frankly, junk, out of the stores and replacedwith stuff ten times cooler.
