    I wrote that article.

I took the information from ComingSoon.net and Jim Hill, if I can remember correctly.

The plot involves looking for a cure for a disease or something like that. ComingSoon wasn't too descriptive. But Dick Cook re-confirmed the film earlier this year.

      What the duce?!

The ride was already inspired by a different movie, The African Queen.

      Blah.

I would suggest renting “The African Queen” with Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn.

I'm just thinking that if they made the ride a lot more like the African Queen, not only would it be a lot sweatier, but all the male CM's would have that permanent five-o'clock shadow...and a case of Gilbey's Gin. That could make things much more interesting.

The Jungle Cruise also travels the rivers of Asia and South America in addition to Africa. Wow..three Continents in 15 minutes!!

                    Re: Jungle Cruise Movie!?

I am not surprised that Disney is basically repeating the movie concept of the "African Queen." Let's face it, Hollywood has been remaking movies and even old TV shows lately because they have run out of ideas. No one wants to take a risk on a new story, so all the "standard suspects" are paraded before the public over and over.

The story of an Africa adventure down a river is actually a good story line. Today's generation has little knowledge of movies before 1970's.

                        Re: Jungle Cruise Movie!?

Having enjoyed The African Queen numerous times since its original release I was well aware of the inspiration the film was for DL's Jungle Cruise.

In recent years I've been searching out books at the library that some of the great films have been based upon and was thoroughly entertained by C. S. Forester's The African Queen as well as Capote's Breakfast at Tiffany's along with King Solomon's Mines, The Maltese Falcon, The Postman Always Rings Twice and the original versions of many of Tennessee Williams's plays.

I would doubt that there is any serious discussion going on about a film based upon The Jungle Cruise attraction.

Only if Johnny Depp plays the lead....then we'll have a hit on our hands for sure!

Different rivers of the World just means that there is plenty of room for sequels for an Adventurous new Disney Character. Hopefully they would find room for a Shrunken Ned Character (pre-beheaded)

I'm trying to picture a female JC skipper doing a Katherine Hepburn imitation...which would be both horribly non-pc and incredibly funny.
