Instead of giving away cars for the 50th anniversery, why not give away real, and/or repreductions of ride vehicles? You know they gotta have warehouses in the back that are full of SkyWay buckets, PeopleMover cars, Rocket Rod's cars, Rocket Jets, old space mountain vehicles, and ATOMmobiles. They probably have a stock of current ride vehicles, like doombuggies, matterhorn bobsleds, and other rides.

they'd get more money selling em off one by one on ebay o_o
those things have got to way a ton o_o
I wouldn't be suprised if most of those vehicals were scrapped and melted down
I mean if they didn't keep the molds to the subs sets why on earth would they keep dozens of broken and old ride vehicals"We all have sparks, imagination! it's how our minds... create creations!"

They do sell them on ebay. And they do weigh a ton- its costs almost $1000 just to ship them. There is a member here who bought them and I promise that only the biggest die-hard would want one- most people wouldn't know what to do with one.Check out the News Forum for the latest news with a Micechat twist!

Yeah, I agree with you DQ - I'm a pretty major diehard and there's no way I'd have any use for a Skyway bucket. I'm a college student, for crying out loud...no place to store it except at my parents' and it's not like they'd make room for it for too long.
That said, they could probably do a slight variation on this and give away spare ride props. While I don't know anyone who'd want a Mr Toad car, I also know very few people who would turn down one of the demons from the hell scene to keep in their living room or cubicle or whatever. They could just make a big old lot of them and circulate them into the ride every night and then they could include a certificate of authenticity saying it was a genuine part of a disneyland ride that had actually been a part of the ride in operation (in other words, not just a replica, but something that had at some point contributed the the ride experience). They could do this with, I don't know, jewels from PotC, and tombstones from the HM, and bees from Splash, and sticks of dynamite from BTMRR...it would actually be pretty cool. We all saw how much people are willing to say for a piece of DL history when they sold off the MSEP lights...I think people would go ape for a little piece of a ride. Maybe the lucky people could win things with moving parts...like a crab from PotC or something.
I don't know how hard it would be to rotate pieces in every night. But I like the idea in theory!

I mentioned something in another thread that I would like to see SOME kind of giveaway to generate more interest and do something exciting for the 50th. Maybe like everyday the 50,000th guest would get a free lifetime pass or something like that. Or the 50,000th guest on July 17th gets $50,000. Or something along those lines- or they could always give away something cool and gold everyday- like a solid gold key to Disneyland or something like that. Now that is something people would get excited about!Check out the News Forum for the latest news with a Micechat twist!
