We are planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort in September 24 - October 1 ... Both the Paradise Pier and Disneyland Hotels are in our price range, so which should I stay at? There are 2 adults and 1 child but I would prefer not to sleep with my mother so which has better options for us?

I would suggest the Disneyland hotel if it is in your price range. Paradise Pier is the "economy" (if there is such a thing!) hotel of the resorts. I have never stayed at either, but the Disneyland hotel would be my choiceCheck out the News Forum for the latest news with a Micechat twist!

I have stayed at both. the DH is great for atmosphere and mucho things to do for all ages. Outdoor bar for adults...great swimming pool for kids...good shopping. Paradise Pier had excellent service years ago , they were on the we try harder plan. The character breakfast there was very good and not so crowded and loud more up close and personal. If its the first time at either property I would have to go with the DLH

We've stayed at Paradise Pier. It's OK. Like a highrise motel. It's comfortable but nothing special, though the view is great. I've never stayed at the Disneyland Hotel but Victoria has. She says its a lot like a highrise motel also. Given a choice, I'd pick the Disneyland Hotel. More to do. More history. More special."Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."

I've always wondered -- do any of the hotel rooms in any of the DLR hotels actually have view of the park? (Disneyland, not DCA). I've never stayed in the park hotels and they seem to be situated at an angle that makes a good view unlikely. But I could be completely wrong.------------------

Disneyland Hotel, try for the Marina Tower if you want a great view of the fireworks from your room! Not really any view of Disneyland itself.
Have only stayed in GCH and DLH, not Paradise Pier, doesn't appeal to me, especially when you can walk over if you want to use any of their facilities from the DLH.Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,it's what they are like in their HEART!
