  • Question about the Main Street Vehicles

Do they run the fire truck, horse drawn buggy, horseless carriage and omnibuss all at the same time? I can't remember if I saw them all out at once or not.

Is there some schedule to them?

    Helps me!

I know that when I was at Disneyland last year, I got to ride all 4 of the vehicles. I didn't ride them all on the same day, however. I think it was on 2 separate days.

When I was there last Sunday, they were running the Two Horse drawn Street Cars, the Omnibus, FireTruck and the Gold Auto car. As we were walking Main Street around 12:30 heading to Whitewater with the MC meet group.

They take the vehicles off the street when they think people will be lining up for the parade. They don't want to run over anybody.

It's a STREET CAR. A Horse Drawn Street Car! Trolleys are electric...They have the "trolley pole" which connects them to the electric wire.

My, how times have changed, that we can't even get the terminology of our own transporation correct. 100 years ago is a long time, I guess...

Most I've ever seen out is 3 at a time. Though not to say they can't do all 4. One going up the street, one down it. The other two at the ends loading/unloading. I'm sure they do run all 4 when they want.

I've seen them all out at once. During Crhistmas, they even run 2 horse drawn street cars. As far as a schedule, they leave each end of the street every 5 minutes, so hang around and in 10 minutes it should be there. If it goes to Code 90, the horses get pulled off the street and go back to rest. All vehicles get removed about an hour before the parade.

My money is on the horse drawn street cars. Those horses are awesome. Callie used to be my daughter's favorite.
