  • Why is everything breaking?!?!

Last night I stopped by Disneyland after work with my wife and girls and we happened to get there about 5 minutes before the parade was starting. We passed up the crowd and headed over to POTC.....closed.
So we then headed over to HM......also closed.
I then call up my cousin, who was there all day, and she said that IASMW was closed earlier also!!! Not to mention the fireworks were cancelled....again.
    What's going on?????
Did everything really stop when Matt Ouimet left?

      Re: Why is everything breaking?!?!

We rode HM around 4pm and it was working but Pirates went down around that time. We were seriously considering staying for the fireworks but opted to leave because we were tired. Looks like we made a good call. I would not have been a happy camper had we waited.

We were online for IASW as it went 101, but only for a few minutes. Don't know if this is the same incident or not. They may have been having problems earlier as well.

I think the wear and tear from the large 50th crowds are really beginning to show. Hopefully, there will be some substantial down time over the next few months to get things back in shape.

I believe Small World closes for the Fireworks show just like most of the other Fantasyland Rides.

You're right, it does close but it was closed a lot earlier than it should have been. It's really too bad.

I think it is a combination of two things.

The change in the refurb schedule to make sure most things were up and running during the 50th, some attractions should have already had refurbs, but they have been delayed.

The end of the Company Fiscal Year (end of September), many things in the past have been delayed until October 1st, so they can charge the expense in the new Fiscal Year.

Aaahhh, good ol fiscal years. It sounds like they're doing exactly what I'm doing here at work today. (in between chatting here...)

Agreed! I was in the park twice yesterday, and I'm going again tonight, and not everything is breaking. See my report for details on all the attractions that are up and running. The only thing "down" is the Monorail this week.

Only three rides were down, and I'm sure not all day. Do you think when you go to Disneyland that everything needs to be open all the time for you? Things happen, and the fireworks have nothing to do with ride maintnance.
