Re: Year of a Million Dreams TV Commercial

I would've had the announcer say "At Disney Parks, where dreams come true" rather than "At Disney Parks, the place where dreams come true," which kinda implies that there's a single place called "Disney Parks."

I dont think it's a stupid comerical, I think the idea of a million dreams is stupid.

What did the comerical show us, Kids having their dreams come true by:

          1) Flying like peter pan
          2) riding dumbo
          3) becomming a princess
          4) riding in a spaceship car

How is this promotion going to give any of thouse in a unique way? What they are showing us in the comerical is not what they are pomoting as "dreams."

I think this comerical would be good if there was no pormotion machine behind it. it is a good generic advertisment for the parks.

Disneyland and WDW are going to be disappointments to
kids who see that commercial and expect to do the same.

I can't stand that they say "Disney Parks" instead of
              "Disneyland" and "Disneyworld".
Critter Country's a mess ev'r since the Country Bears were kicked out. Ya can't cover pooh with honey and 'spect people ta like it.

People are wasting too much energy complaining about this ad campaign. How else do you promote 5 different Disney resorts at the same time?

Meh. At least it "explained" some of the "dreams" from the crappy website.

And it has nothing to do with the "year of a million dreams" giveaway or sweepstakes, it's just a generic blanket advertisement for a place called "Disney Parks"

About the same amount of energy as those defending it We're here to discuss the minutae of Disney stuff, debating is what makes message boards fun!

I don't know, maybe by mentioning them? Should 5 different Disney resorts be promoted on the same ticket? I mean, if I saw this commercial and lived in California, what's the draw for Florida? If I saw a commerical for Everest, on the other hand...

I don't believe the intent of the entire campaign is to draw you to any specific park. I believe the intent is to draw you to the Disney magic in general (we can all relate to the Disney magic that we feel). When you go to the site it then shows you your options of parks to attend.

People should be happy that there is no bias in this commercial. I'm thankful there are no park clips in this or else there would be mass riots if they showed a clip of WDW and not DL.

Re: Year of a Million Dreams TV Commercial

Artistically, the commercial is excellent. But I really don't think the commercial will resonate well with people on the West Coast or Disneyland vacationers because of the views of Cinderella Castle.

The commercial would be fine if it came in two different flavors: a Disneyland version where the announcer says "This year during the Year of a Million Dreams at the Disneyland Resort - the place where dreams come true" and we see Sleeping Beauty Castle with all of the fireworks and whatnot. And a version for Walt Disney World with the current shot of Cinderella Castle while the announcer says "This year during the Year of a Million Dreams at the Walt Disney World Resort - the place where dreams come true"

The whole generic, dumbed-down "Disney Parks" logo, message, and idea is really nauseating. They need to stick with the brand names of "Disneyland" and "Walt Disney World" and stop trying to meld everything together with this "Disney Parks" thing.
