Disneyland 1969 This set is GOOD!!!!! Notice the Horse-drawn streetcar has a 10 cent fee. Also there is the one the only Carousel of Progress. And in light of recent events there is a pic of the Submarine lagoon empty.

Taking by a ex-cast member from what I understand. These were taken when the park was closed in 1979. First year Big Thunder was opened.

no its not my in the dress if my parents but me in a dress i would be one confused boy lol. These are just old pics i have collected from various people and sources.

Just a thought. I think the reason families don't have more snaphots from DL during the '50s is the fact that anyone who thought of themselves as middle class had put the Brownie Camera on the closet shelf and took the home movie camera to the park instead.

Home Movies were all the rage until video made film obsolete. My family has some B/W shots from the first year of the park's opening but then it was 8mm or 35mm slides after that. I have loads of both.

And...to all you critics of DCA (and it's been pointed out in numerous posts) please note the bare look of DL and lack of vegetation. It has taken decades for bushes and trees to mature and create the look that many of you have in your minds when you think of DL. The JC really looks like a jungle for only the past 30 years. Before that, it was pretty sparse.

I was just going to say - my parents' families both spent time at DL in the '60s, but all they have are B&W home movies. I insisted on digging out the projector so I could watch my mom and uncle cavorting in Fantasyland. But they're sure a lot harder to post on the internet...not to mention they're at the old family homestead.

I love those photos of the ROA, the second one of the Mike Fink Keelboat shows the ROA downstream, and it looks compeltely different. It looks more like a frontier than all those trees. Very cool pics, thanks for sharing!
