  • DCA's Animation Academy update 9/4/06

So yesterday afternoon I drop by to get some sketching practice in and to my welcome surprise the "class" featured Jack Skellington! The full auditorium burst into applause, it was great to see people so excited. He's a relatively easy character to draw and an excellent addition to the roster.

BTW, the guy next to me in the front row announced to everyone that a CM at the Haunted Mansion told him that there would be no HMH this year, needless to say the 2 CMs leading the class were quite surprised and many in the crowd were audibly disappointed. They'd apparently not actually read the Halloweentime handouts available at the gates promoting HMH annual visit....

That is great I am so happy to see them doing someone other then Mickey or Pooh, even though Jack was never hand drawn. I have to say how much I am hating guest "I heard stories" lately. I was in line at Space the other day and had someone say that Muppets was going away. When asked how she heard it she said she was a CM but she heard it from a freind of her mom....who was Al. While I know that Al and everyone on all Disney rumor web sites have a good record at best, why do you have to fight that what you heard/read is the truth and have people around you get upset?

It's the beauty of the experience for all of the guests. All the character were borne sprung from a pencil, even Tim Burton's....

That stupid rumor is so persistent. Every single year it comes up.

With all this talk of "off the shelf" and "on the back-burner" it seems the only thing that DCA is really missing is the kitchen sink!
