The Disneyland Resort has been spit-polished and is just about ready to go for the big 50th anniversary celebration. "Tiny" improvements are still being made to Storybook Land and something "Gnu" is still getting into the Jungle Cruise. But all will soon be unwrapped and back in business (Space Mountain pending).
Here are a few pictures that I took on Sunday, May 1st. (A big group of Mice Chatters were with me, and I hope they will post their photos here for you as well!).
Nostalgia is taking over the resort. The shops on Main Street are featuring photos of the park as it has looked through the years:

Retro inspired clothing:

Even Innoventions is getting into the nostalgia act. Banners have been installed which feature Tomorrowland attractions through the years:

A giant web has been added to the front of the Haunted Mansion:

The problem with the Splach Mountain logs seems to have been fixed. The logs are now being loaded with passengers in the back seat:

Plaza Pavilion now sports a Disney Vacation Club booth:

as well as a fleet of pin carts (3 that I counted):

The photo murals are everywhere along with their "hidden" Mickey 50th anniversary signs. This new one is next to Small World (insets show a close-up and a super close-up)

As the 50th celebration approaches, the media has started to decend. I've never received as many emails from the media as I have in the past month. An Austrialian television program held a castle shoot (amoung others) on Sunday:

Those are my photos, where are yours?
