Anyone ever order a gift card through the mail? I want to get one for my wife but don't want to order if it will take a while. I need it by 9/15 (friday after next).

I had the same dilemma last Christmas. I wanted to get cards for my nieces and nephews for their early December trip to DLR, but I didn't want to pay the outrageous shipping charges. So I bought them at World of Disney in DTD when I visited the park in late November. Saved lots of $$ doing it that way.
I guess if your not going to the DLR soon, I guess my way wouldn't be an option for you. I guess when you need the Disney gift cards you have do it well in advance - especially if you want to avoid the shipping charges!

Safeway grocery stores have a gift card kiosk and they stock Disneyland gift cards.Comment

The gift cards you purchase at The Disney Store, and Safeway can only be used at the Disney Store, not Disneyland, unless of course it's a gift card for a Park-Hopper pass... I found that out last year while looking...
Mad Hatter, you'll find the right time to "slip away"... If you go to www.disneygiftcard.com, you can see where you can purchase and use the Disney gift card.
