Parking on May 5??

Now, I know that we're all getting to the park extra extra early, but I have a funny logistics question about the PARKING situation...

Every Disney fanatic online is going to be there, lining up.

Now, I'm an AP, so I generally just head back to the Mickey & Friend's structure, and skip the "main gate experience" -- it's usually just extra wait time.

Should I go to the parking structure, like I usually do, from the Ball Rd. entrance on Thursday morning, or try and hop to the main gate by 7:30 am? (That's when I plan to get there)

It's a funny question. I doubt they'll let APs park in Timon on May 5... so shouldn't the structure open around then? I'm just not sure... Hmmm...

Great question. I had not thought about parking at all. I was planning on being at the park by like 7ish and just realized that the Mickey and friends lot doesnt normally open till about 30 minutes before the park opens.


Hmm anyone have any thoughts on parking?

I always thought the parking structure opened an hour before the park. And what about the trams? When do they start shuttling services? If my family gets stuck waiting in line at the parking structure, I'm gonna bail, get on a tram, and head to the park! But that's if the trams are running. The main gate is too far of a walk for me; I get blisters very easliy.

My main question is really whether to wait in line at the main gate, or at the parking structure.

As for me im having my wife drop us off at the front and wait in line between 7-8am I dont wanna hassle with parking and leaving the parking struture if were staying till it closes. Its crazy!!

Last time I called in the parking structure opened at 7. God it's gonna be a madhouse...I don't even want to think about the back up on Ball Road. And I'll see you in the 5:40 tour X!

I figured with the parade, I'd get two chances to see it, and as long as I get on JC and Buzz who cares whether I'm at the front of two extra lines? But I want to be guaranteed that I see everything that the fireworks show has to offer. I'll be there with my boyfriend, both wearing gold Mickey ears. I'm also wearing my Tiki Room shirt.

I called Disneyland guest services...(714) 781-7290. If thye tell you omething different, could you post because the woman I talked to didn't sound as confident as I might have hoped. Especially since she was talking about early entry and now I'm hearing they're not doing early entry...

Really? I called once and they told me they didn't know. Then I asked at GR at the park on Friday, and she said officially, 8:30 (1/2 hour before park opening) but that it may be earlier if we're banging down the proverbial doors. But I was just about to come and ask the same question, and see if anyone here had a more definitive answer.

Another parking question - if I get there before it opens, is there a spot to "line up" my car and wait until it opens? Or do I have to go find someplace else to go sit and wait, and keep trying back?

Ah, okay! I just wasn't sure if they'd block the entrance to the garage off farther up (more towards the stoplight, for those of us coming from Ball) where you didn't have a spot to stop. So I can just get there reaaaaaally early, and bring some homework to do while I sit in my car and wait...

Me too, although I'm going to aim for more like 7:30, given that I have an hour drive to get to DL.
