We all know that the Cast Members don't make enough to survive. Would you pay $1 more for everything if it went to give Cast Member a living wage?

Quite frankly, I have a difficult time with the concept, as Disney raises the prices of a single day ticket about $3-$5 or so a year (or so it seems) anyway...

With the prices they charge, and the hefty profit margins they have on most everything they sell in the parks...

Wouldn't it make more sense to put pressure of Disney to get rid of some of the people in TDA, and elsewhere in their seemingly bloated management structure, and use that money to pay the CM's better?

IF it was only on one thing like admission and IF it would go directly to the CM's then yes. They do put up with a lot. A lot of MiceChatters were or are CM's. My daughter was a CM. Granted not all CM's are perfect, just like not all human beings are perfect but they do still deserve more than what they start out making.

No, I wouldn't...DL is an entry level job that requires no skills and no previous training. It is not meant to be a job one can "live" on.

Sounds like taxes to me. ("Let's raise taxes to save the education system." I am in education and I know how much waste there is and how much doesn't go to the classrooms). Sounds good in theory, but why doesn't Disney just allocate their finances so that CM's get what they deserve in the first place.

If Disney were to allow the CMs to put up tip boxes at loading platforms or where ever they work I'd happily tip them for service rendered. But give money to Bob Iger and trust him to pay it out to the CMs? No way. It'd disappear down the rabbit hole and the CMs would never see a dime of it and still get treated like KAK.

Funny thing is once the State minimum wage goes up the CMs will be working for minimum wage. Let's see if TDA can fill those openings then.

The problem stems from the "Union Contract" that prevents the really great CM's from being recognised for their superior skills. Everyone gets the same pay!

I would love to see them get paid more, I would pay more at the gate, but not for everything, a soda is already almost 3 bucks!

yea! Every legitimate job should pay enough to live off of! Alot of them are students and use that money to pay for food! i can undertstand someone who just says no...but to go as far as to say that its not a job meant to live off of...that is harsh. It says that the job that CM's have is lower than shining shoes on the city sidewalks, or handing out towels in a restroom! Please, dont say that a CM's job isnt one that requires skill, because it does. Dealing with people for hours at a time is a H3LL of a job and these guys and gals that work hard to make us smile every time we get on a ride, or sit to watch the fireworks, or even admire Main Street from a bench. It is harsh to deny these people a raise and to refuse to call what they do a job to live on....REALLY! WHAT JOB ISNT MEANT TO MAKE MONEY AND LIVE OFF OF? No. I would not pay an extra dollar on admission tickets/merchandise to help the CMs. If I did that, they probably wouldn't get it. I would just give the CMs I ran into and chatted with a few extra dollars as a tip. .

Sorry... The pay rate is what it is! It says that a CM works at DL because they really want to; everyone knows the per hour rate when they take the position. The idea that every legitimate job should pay enough to live off is a pipe dream! If you are lucky enough to live in Southern California, where a two bedroom nothing of a house is 1/2 million dollars, then you better work at a job that pays you more than DL does... It's all about choice!
