so, i wonder if this is what the disney gods where thinking about dca.... Lets build a california theme park and just for fun...... we'll build it in california. They are laughing cuz its the stupidest thing to do! If u could build a theme what theme would u want?

i would want DCA to be themed as a european city! think...Venice perhaps? I mean, yea...how odd is it that a california themed themepark IS ACTUALLY IN CALIFORNIA! Who came up with that! Its not even an accurate representation od Cali...its even more stereotypical california than the regular stereotype things we hear about our golden state!

Even when my son was 12 he wondered why they would build a fake CA in CA. Jeez build New York or Boston or Vienna or something. I can drive 20 minutes and be in the real Hollywood (but why?)

A european city would be cool. I understand what your saying about driving less than an hour for me anyways to get to san francisco and monterey. no point at all. i was thinking about it and i felt like ranting.

dca would work if maybe it had ca in different eras...and it could take u back....kinda like mainstreet but all different eras...they ccould keep paradise pier...but someone on here said hollywood should be like 20s and i totally agree

I think they are starting to address these issues.
I like all the Disney things they are starting to focus on; remember, they originally weren't going to see the characters, now you do.
It is becoming a better park, I hope they break free of the California theme entirely eventually.

What they were thinking:
People want to go to CA for vacation. They're willing to spend money up and down the coast. Let's build a one stop vacation destination (next to one of the most popular stops on a CA trip) and take the money before they have a chance to spend it while camping, or at the beach, or at Univeral Studios.
