  • Ugly New Planters

    I HATE these New Planters!!!
They Looks so Modern, Generic and Cheap!
They Ruin The Lampost! They Look Like They Belong in Tomorrowland if Not Downtown Disney? Who's Brilliant Idea Were These?

It's great bling bling for the 50th! We KNEW that would be lots of that! Don't be so critical and just enjoy!
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

Yea they are not the best design however I agree that any additional "bling" is great after all these years of decay.

More and more, it's becoming an all new series of "Pimp My Park".

I'm waiting for golden spinner rims for the Main St. vehicles now.......

I like the Tinkerbell and the trail of stars, but the planter and the crown-style rim on the cowling look plastic and very out of place. Tsk tsk.

As far as a Hip Hop Disneyland is concerned, I'm picturing Goofy with his giant toofuses capped with diamonds and gold, doing a Lil' Jon impression - "Uh-hyuck! Ohh-kayyyeeee!"

Yeah those look pretty bad. I thought the Tinkerbell addition was great, but this is a little over the top.

I prefer those flower "balls" they hang from the lamps much more than these plastic looking things. If they had flowers that grew over the sides and hanged down that would be better, but still the base is so plain.

I don't really like them from an aesthetic standpoint, so in no way is this a defense...but as a designer it would seem to me that they are there so that Tinkerbell remains on top of the lamp post. In other words, were the planters not there it would be just a little too tempting for souvenir-hunters to take a swipe at Tink.
