Does anyone know where I might find some video footage of the Carousel of Progress? I haven't seen the show since I was little and would love to see it again but neither YouTube or VisionsFantastic has it. Anyone know where I might find some?
    Thanks!

I'd love to see some footage of it, too! I never got to see it at all.

you should, for the better-ment of society, go to florida and make a tape of the CoP and upload it for the world to enjoy.

I was gonna film CoP in florida but for some reason they don't allow filming there. was another one of the weird cross-rules. i know they allowed filming in DL, but not there, meanwhile they allow filming of ToT there but not in DL. crazy =D

The extinct attractions club sells a DVD of Carousel of Progress that includes both the original and "Now is the Best Time of Your Life" version (which was the first version when it moved to Walt Disney World).

I have both versions on dvd that I shot (can't upload due to size). I am more than willing to copy them onto dvd for others. I have many other attractions and parades from the past on dvd that I have shot. If you would like to know just pm me.

This was an attraction at DL right? when did it close? For the life of me I can't remember this one. Might have been before my time.

Yes it was an attraction at Disneyland (not Resort! ), from 1967 (after it ran at the 1964-5 NY World's Fair) to 1973. It moved because General Electric believed it had gotten its message across at DL and seeked new audiences at WDW, so the carousel theater reopened there in 1975. Of course, we were left with a big shell of a theater, so America Sings was created for the bicentennial.

The music from Carousel of Progress can still be heard in Innoventions, ---a little bit of the old music..although I don't know what's gonna happen when MSN takes over that attraction.

"There's a great big beautiful Tomorrow..."

Also, when you call the 936-MICKEY number....or whatever that number is......the 'hold' music is from Carousel of Progress.

I just like the music. The scenes are a bit generic and surprisingly lack charm, for an era when mid-Century style otherwise seemed all about charm.

Now America Sings.......that was an incredible loss. Sniffle.
