When at the end of the May 5th Ceremony the speaker went "The 50th Anniversiary has "officially" begun"? No thanks for coming but that as an ending speech! In light of the new slogans I was thinking on how bad that sounded!

Yeah, and after Julie Andrews said that, fireworks shot out from the Castle. I was there. I don't know, sounds like the perfect ending to me. You don't here people say, "thanks for coming" right before the ball drops on New Year's Eve.

I really don't see the big deal of this thread.

LOL Yeah. Wasn't the whole point of May 5th the kick off for the 50th? Not your being there. It was a special thing to be there that day for the kickoff - they weren't lucky to have you - you were lucky to be there. *sigh*

I know I was there for the Regis and Kelly thing they were doing for the 50th kickoff. I don't remember if that was the day before or the day of the 5th. All I know is there seemed to be 5,000 people down in the hub and the rest of the park was empty, so I thoroughly enjoyed my day!

If I was lucky enough to be at DL on May 5th (instead of watching iti on GMA) I wouldn't be complaining.
