Finally saw the "new" Dapper Dans last week. As we anticipated, the group had a stiff, corporate look to them, doing a lot of the same gags over and over, and didn't reflect the professionalism and spirit of the old Dans.
But we did get a little surprise, though. We were in New Orleans Square. There was a group doing a pirates skit and one of them was Bill Lewis from the old Dans. He wasn't the lead of the group (there were four of them altogether), but contributated significantly by playing a flute and adding lines at various points during the show. Made us miss the old Dans even more. We were big fans and the news that they were replaced hit us very hard. It was sad to see him playing this way, but good that he was still working.
