    Disneyland Ride Vehicles

    what disneyland ride vehicles do you enjoy riding in the most and why?

    I enjoy the Doombuggies because they are unique and the provide a lot of room for the riders.

    I also like the Indy jeeps because of how technologically advanced they are.

    I also like the Tower of Terror elevators.

    I prefer the Matterhorn Bobsleds because of the legroom. Also, the BTMRR trains, because they let you slide around and bump into the people next to you!
    Make something Idiot-Proof, and someone will build a better Idiot.

      I would have to say Its a small world b/c you can kick back & relax & also you have a bunch of room.

          Steam Train Caboose was my fave in the old days. You could look down from the windows at the top.

            I still really like the Peter Pan ride vehicles. I think they do a great job of fulfilling the expectations of the story and enhance the whole experience of the attraction with a small but wonderful touch of magic and excitement. When you really think about it...it was the first "Soarin'" ride where you got suspended in the air above and into an attraction.

            As simple as Peter Pan's vehicles may be...they succeed in fulfilling their design and story demand, perfectly...and earn them an A+ in my book...even 50 years after they were first created.

            I kinda hold an opposing view on the Haunted Mansion ride vehicles, and ones that are similar. While I like the Doom Buggy Omnimovers in the Haunted Mansion for their creative design and ability to transport you and point you in the direction of the action/show...they really in and of themselves don't add a lot to the attraction.

            Don't get me wrong...I think they're great. It's just that I hold the opinion that the really great ride vehicles incorporate themselves more into the show and story. Things like Peter Pan and Indy and such...the ride vehicle is an integral part of the storytelling of the show. Haunted Mansion...it's just sort of a black pod-like passive transport system. Mind you, a great passive transport system...but just not that important to the story and show...other than to point you in the right direction and provide a place for the speakers.

            An early concept for a Haunted Mansion ride vehicle had guests entering upright coffins and at the beginning of ride they would be lowered into a hole and buried alive! I think we can all see the problems that would have caused Guests (claustrophobia being the least of them) and why it was quickly abandoned. But at least that would have been a ride vehicle that would have been more a part of the show.
