DL opens at 10AM...what time do the turnstyles open?

Quick question and sorry if it's a double post - I've looked on the DL website and didn't find this info.

What time do the turnstyles open during the Fall? I went last week expecting to stand in line until 10 a.m., and the gates were already open, and guests were already in the park, waiting for the rope drop. Do the gates open at 9 a.m. or 9:30?

It's usually 30 minutes before the park opening.

This is right. But they will still only allow so many people on main street so they won't let everyone in 30 mins before if there are too many in line.

I always like to arrive at least an hour before opening time. That way I can take photos. You get some good shots early in the day, with less people in them. Also if they let you enter a 1/2 hour earlier, they usually have some characters in Town Square that you can interact with.

I didn't realize that opening time was 10 a.m. at Disneyland at this time of the year. I have only visited Disneyland during the summer.

When the park opens at 8am, they open the gates and let people in en masse at once. When the park opens later, at 9am or 10am, they let people into Main Street 1/2 hour to 1 hour earlier, and then do the famed "rope drop", once the park officially opens (not counting any early entry tickets).
