  • Hall Of Fame?

If Disneyland had a Hall of Fame ......oh lets say on Main Street somewhere (because that just seems like a good place to have it) what Disney personalities of the past do you think SHOULD most definitely be in it?

Maybe they could pay tribute to people who had a lasting effect on Disneyland, with, I don't know, maybe windows with clever business names that elude to the role a person had in creating part of the magic of Disneyland. The windows could be the ones above the shops on Main Street.

Unless it is Fess Parker, he deserves a window in Frontierland.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

HAH! Fabulous idea - but that's now what I am talking about. I mean an actual 'Hall of Fame'. There are MANY MANY more people who visited or had to do with Disneyland that 'don't have windows'.

It could be called "Yesterday at Disneyland - The Disneyland Hall of Fame".

      It's just an idea.

Anyway, I'd include The original Mouseketeers - maybe foreman from the actual construction OF the place.....people like that. Richard Nixon since he was at the ribbon cutting of the Monorail.....people like that. Those that Walt invited in....

Disney graces the types of people you described with Disney Legend Awards. Everyone from actors, actresses, imagineers, studio executives, artists, musicians, etc have been honored with the award. The honorees receive a really cool award and have their hand prints and autographs in stone squares. The squares are on display at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank.

Ooops! I should have read more closely. Yeah, there might be mention of those people in books, but so many special guests have passed through the gates, I don't see how Disney could honor them all.

That's wonderful. However, I am talking about something at Disneyland. Not the Burbank Studios.

Actually, Admiral Joe Fowler WAS honored in a manner more befitting his title than a window; instead, "Fowler's Harbor", along the Rivers of America, was named after him.

Of course, to be fair, it wasn't originally meant to be an honor... Walt originally named it derisively, because he didn't understand why they needed a dry dock.

Are you for real with this? I don't think it would ever happen. They would have to start a whole new class of awards.

Disneyland treats each visitor as a special guest within its gates. Why would they single out guests that are more special because they are a celebrity or a political figure? I would think Disney would want to distance themselves from that type of elitist behavior.

I can see giving people who made a contribution to making Disneyland so magical an award (and they already do so), I cannot see why they would give someone an award nor an accolade for being a visitor to Disneyland.

You make an excellent point here. There are lots of little references to folks around Disneyland. One I can think of is the Haunted Mansion. The graves and headstones have the names of people who worked on the ride on them. When Haunted Mansion Holiday comes, the names of imagineers and their kids show up on the Good/Bad list in the attic. They are not so in your face ways to pay hommage to the people who worked on an attraction.

See - that's my point. I didn't know that - and in a HALL OF FAME of sorts, could make that 'known'. Like maybe "Fame" could be given to the people that owned the grove that was where Disneyland NOW is.

Um, I vote for John Stamos. He's a Disneyland Hall of Famer in my book.

Some very important/influential names of folks are painted on the windows on Main St. That's a cool way to recognize them.

And yes, the Disney Legends are awesome!

Yeah, Rebecca Romjin needs her own too.

I'd vote myself in the Disneyland H.O.F. because I'm more better.
