ANAHEIM, Calif. - A tour bus headed for Disneyland with about 30 passengers aboard collided with a big rig Wednesday, police said.
The Anaheim Resort Transit System bus was on Disney Way when it stopped at the intersection with Anaheim Boulevard, said Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez. The bus was barely 10 feet into the intersection when it struck an 18-wheeler turning in the opposite direction.
Seven passengers were taken to the hospital, most with minor bruising and sprains, he said.
About 20 gallons of diesel fuel spilled during the accident. Firefighters thickened it and scooped it up into bags, said Maria Sabol, a spokeswoman with the Anaheim Fire Department.

Sorry to hear that folks got hurt.

It's really not much of a surprise though. The ART drivers that we have seen are not only rude, but not very good/courteous drivers.

We are thankful that we stay on property most of the time and don't have to deal with ART. Even when we don't stay O-P, we avoid ART like the plague. I refuse to give them one thin dime of my money.

I just hope that the soon-to-be-filed lawsuits don't include Disney...

Well, like so many things in life, that depends. There are many law firms that would just sue everybody, and hope for settlements to "get out of of the lawsuit", especially from deep pockets like Disney. But based on the information reported, I don't see how Disney is negligent in this case, and I'm sure any arrangement or contract they have with ART has an indemnification clause.

I bet a law firm would try to sue Disney over this. Not that I agree with it though, just like Frogberto said, they have deep pockets and that's where they'd go.

The bus was taking them to DL. That's all that a lawyer needs to hear (sad to say).

Folks have gotten big bucks for much less!

I certainly don't agree, but in todays lawsuit-happy society, (and quick out of court settlements) it's reality.

i've avoided ART at all costs since the first time we attempted to use their services. the drivers (all three we encountered) were rude and very unhelpful.

Does Disney own ART in any way?

We have long ago stopped staying where we need the shuttles.
We stay right across S. Harbor so we can be back to the room before the shuttles ever show up.
I have seen so many just jam over when the light changes, I always shake my head, and wonder how many collisions they end up having!

I was planning to take the ART on my trip in November but now I may reconsider. I already hate public transportation as it is (besides flying) because of a wreckless airport bus my sister took that almost got in an accident. Maybe the way to go is drive again.

Exactly. There are thousands of accidents in the United States, and some of them end up in lawsuits. In each one of those car trips, the driver and passengers are always "going somewhere". But the law doesn't allow us to sue the daycare center, the mall, the movie theater, just because that was their destination! As I mentioned above, I don't see how Disney is liable here, although I don't have all the facts.
