Ok, can anyone recollect this question. Today when you go to the park you will see janitorial cast members dressed up in their "whites" doing their thing. Now this question specifically about female janitorial cast members. Can anyone remember the color of the costumes female janitorial cast members had to wear back in the late 70's, early 90's?

Re: Test Your Disney Knowledge
Thats the whole point of Disneyland having thier Janitorial uniforms white...because they're soooooo good, they dont ruin thier white uniforms. It makes you say..."Wow they clean up trash, yet thier uniforms stay immaculately white! Very impressive *golf clap*"For me, Tomorrow is everyday...wait...what?

Re: Test Your Disney Knowledge
General custodial and Disneyland custodial lesson and the answer to the question "Why white?":
Col. George Waring Jr., a former Civil War officer, was appointed New York City's first sanitation director in 1896. He created America's first revenue-producing, residential solid waste collection and recycling program. Launching a major public relations campaign and outfitting his sanitation workers in white uniforms to parallel the cleanliness of the medical profession, Waring used his "White Wing" workers to wage a war against waste.
He was as famous and as well photographed as "Maynard" is today. I have some shots of him with Walt somewhere...but I can't seem to locate them right now. But he was a great guy and was not only a functioning custodial worker, but was almost a "character" of the Park!
In the following photo on top, is a shot of him and his cart near the Hub taken in 1955. Below that is a postcard shot of the Market House with Disneyland Characters "The Sheriff" "Black Bart" "Keystone Cop" and almost looking forced into the photo shoot...the White Wing Trinidad with his cap sitting on the floor beside him. You almost get the feeling he's thinking, "What the heck am I doing in this photo?"
One of those great early Disneyland Cast Members that is all but lost to time. I wonder what ever became of him?
But that's where Disneyland Custodial's "whites" come from...the old traditional "White Wings."
