  • Jungle Cruise Movie

Wondered if you guys already knew about this, I was watching the news and they announced the Jungle Cruise movie Disney is making. I've known they were making one for a while, but now they officially anounced it.

Edit: I've just realized that this post probably doesn't belong in the DLR forum.

is Eddie Murphy in it? Hopefully they won't mess Jungle Cruise up like they did Haunted Mansion.

Haunted Mansion is like the best ride and the movie blew. Jungle Cruise isn't one of my favorites, but who knows, it could turn out to be a great movie.

I really dont want them changing the ride to fit a movie, so hopefully it woht be as successful as Pirates.

It is a little frightening since Disney stumbled so badly with the Haunted Mansion movie and the terrible Country Bears. Disney did not seem to grasp the "flavor" of each attraction. Haunted Mansion is a haunt with a smile on your face. It is meant to have a comical, quirky view of ghosts. Country Bears also had a world unto themselves, off-beat but fun. But the movie threw that out.

The fun about the Jungle Cruise has a "comic adventure" feeling. It is similar to the movie Romancing the Stone. If the movie has that flavor, I think it will be successful. But if they try to make it an action adventure, without humor, then the movie will really have nothing to do with the ride and probably will fail.

I am totally weary of this. I just heard about it. I'm scared.

If the Haunted Mansion movie felt more like Beatle Juice, it might have worked.

The Jungle Cruise movie will be good though, since Disney now knows what they are doing... right?

I believe this has already been done. It was called "The African Queen."

uhh...Not another one of these. Pirates is the only exception of the ride movies. For one, as BigThunder said, the ride was based off of a movie called The African Queen

Apparently the story with the ride at DL is that you are in the 30's and the skippers work for some cargo shipping company and we are their "victims" in a riverboat tour scam.
Or something like that. I guess thats what the movie is about.

Wow, another ride movie. I don't know what to say. Just think though, at this rate we can expect a IASW movie before the end of the decade.

I'm all for an "It's a Small World" movie if it's made by the folks who made the Chucky movies.

I'd eventually like to see a new film version of "The Haunted Mansion" made so that we can all erase the memory of the Eddie Murphy debacle. Setting the story in the present day was the fundamental mistake of that picture.

So Disney's making a movie about a ride that was made about a movie?

I think Hepburn and Bogart did this already, and much better than Disney could possibly do it.

Man, you folks are tough. Obviously POTC set the bar really high. IMO the HM movie was nothing close to a "debacle". It was not POTC, but it was a fun movie that kept your attention and was good for many laughs. Personally I liked it for what it was, as did all four of my kids in the teen and tween age group.
